The Kingdom of Heaven is kept as a mystery, in parables, requiring conversion, for sins to be forgiven.
If anyone hears, and understands, they are converted, their sins are forgiven.
Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
1. The word is sown into the heart, but it still is not heard, not understood, it goes away immediately, because it accomplished nothing. James 1:23-24, reveals these as hearers, and not doers, caused by the word taken immediately away by satan.
Mark 4:15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
James 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
2. These others likewise are stony ground, ( stony hearts.) who are glad to receive the word, and for the words sake, persecution comes to cause offence to them ( They believe for a while, but in the time of temptation, they fall away. Luke 8:13.)
Hebrews 10:38, sums these up, as those who draw back, and Gods soul having no pleasure in him.
Mark 4:16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
3. These others hear the word, and the cares of this world grow before them,( thorns) deceitfulness of riches, and other lusts/ pleasures of this life, to choke the word, the word and he becomes unfruitful.
2 Timothy 3:4-5, sums these up, they are lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, they have a form of godliness, but deny the power of God. 2 Thessalonians 2:12, also speaks of those who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Peter 2:13 also tells of these, who shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they count it pleasure to riot in the day time, sporting with their own deceiving.
Mark 4:18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
Matthew 13:22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
Luke 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2 Thessalonians 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
2 Peter 2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
4. They on good ground, ( not received in a stony heart.) hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit. ( He that received seed into the good ground, hears the word and understands it, and bears fruit. Matthew 13:23. They on the good ground, are they with an honest and good heart, hearing the word and keeping it, to bring forth fruit with patience to perfection. Luke 8:15.)
James 1:4, tells of these, who let patience have her perfect work, for them to be entire, wanting nothing. Colossians 2:2-3, explains these, as their hearts knit together in love, unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father and of Christ, in who is hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Mark 4:20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
Matthew 13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Colossians 2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
