NDE's, Heaven/Hell visions

I've seen many videos of poeple who have had near death experiences and say they were shown heaven, hell, or both. Also, I've seen some where people say they were visited by Jesus and He showed them heaven and hell. They are very interesting, and many of the people who say they have these experiences describe many of the same things in a very similar way, almost exactly.

I'm curious if anyone else has looked into these, and what your take is on them.

I've heard of them, have a video about it, and find them fascinating.
The evidence is anecdotal, but that doesn't automatically mean that it's untrue. And that the stories don't seem to contradict each other definitely says something.


A bit off topic as it's not a near death experience, but related:
After my grandfather died a few years ago, some of my relatives said they actually saw him--and not in a dream. He told them he was in heaven and that he was alright. (My grandfather had not been a Christian until a little bit before he died.)
I didn't experience this and neither did any of my immediate family. It could probably be explained away. But it is interesting.
