Hello everyone
I am a WOW player ...have been for over the past 2 years. It only dawned on me recently the possiblity of ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ inside the warcraft world. Have anyone ever done this before? If so ...what was the response like? I have heard people say that "world of warcraft is an escape from the real world so there's no need to preach in game" bla bla bla...my opinion is i am a christian in-game and out-game, and i cannot tell myself not preach in-game, because of what people say...Is there any input on this?

You won't be able to just go on there and start talking to people about Jesus. I have never played World of Warcraft, but I doubt they would take you seriously. I would think that if you want to share Jesus with a person in game, you first would need to befriend them. Make connections with them, and help each other in the game or whatever. It is a lot easier to minister to people when you know each other and are more comfortable and friendly with each other.

Good point... Jesus did attend to the needs of people most of the time before he actually shared the knowledge of the kingdom with them... and I know for a fact that people "sweep their stuff under the carpet" and use WOW as means of forgetting about it. I've been troubled with this for a while and have been asking myself..."Does God want me to share the gospel in this video game?" "How would I let the light of Christ within me shine?" so they can see

I don't play WoW but I do play other games online like F.E.A.R., and you would get absolutely slammed preaching the gospel. A better way to do it would be to just be a good example in your actions. There is a lot of swearing on these games. Be a good example and don't do it, and don't insult other players. That kind of thing. I think that's the best approach.

Yeah, Nick's right on. I play TF2 and it's the same there, a lot of darkness. Occasionally someone will bring up Christianity, usually putting it down, but essentially giving a few of us a great opportunity to get people to think about God and discuss Him. The ticket is to have built up a relationship with them first. I'll tell ya', humility is a great thing... seldom found on these game servers but a great asset when the Lord opens a door!

Personally, Id say go for it on WoW.

My boyfriend plays, and a number of times he has come across a satanist group recruiting on some of the various servers he plays on. He has yet to come across any Christian groups however.

I think if its done in the right way, you shouldnt get too much abuse/annoyance from non-christians :)

I think you should just leave people be and let them play their game. They're not paying money to be preached at. :/ It's stuff like that that's why Christians are so darn unpopular.
