Need paint ideas for 6 yr old girls room

We're redoing my daughters bedroom for her 6th birthday and I'm am NOT crafty at all. It would be much easier if I had all the decorations, wall hangings, etc hanging up so I could post a pic of that, but I can't because Courtney doesn't know half the stuff that I bought.

Her room will have blues, aquas, pinks, lime greens, violets and purples in it. Here are pictures of everything I have bought. You can't tell by the pictures, but her quilt also has violet colored flowers in it. I was hoping to bring them out more by going with other colors besides all blue. Do you think it will look ok?

I had planned on doing a chair rail with blue on the bottom, but I'm thinking of doing something a bit more extreme. I've seen rooms where each wall is painted a different color. I'm wondering how it would look if I did that. I could do one wall a violet, one a lighter blue/aqua, the other a light lime green, and the other something else. Or should I just do the chair rail with one color on the bottom and white on top? If I do the chair rail, what COLOR should I use on the bottom? I was also going to add that shimmer stuff to the paint. My neighbor used it in her daughters room and looks so neat. We went to Lowes today and picked out several samples of the Nickelodeon paint.

I just want it to be FUN!

Those things below the pillow are things that hang from the ceiling. I don't know where I'm going to put them yet. They are blue, but when the light hits them certain ways, they show a bit of purple. Oh and the striped things in the package are curtains. They are purple, blue and green.

HELP!

Nikki, I think the room is going to look great. I love all those colors you have picked out. I am sure your daughter is going to love it no matter which way you choose do it.
I can't offer much help because I like my walls to be white and I bring the color in by the curtains, pillows, rugs....ect..

Show us a picture when you finish her room. By the way when is her b-day? :bday:

Hey, Nikki, what I learned in college was to consult a color wheel.
Look at the colors that are directly opposite of the color you want, and those will help bring out the best in the main color you use.

I think the different color walls will be cool... my parents living room is done in two differnt colors and it looks really good. They have the main wall in a dark color with the side walls and the back one in a lighter color.

I say go for it! Post pics for us when it's done please :D

Happy painting 8-) :)
