its not a nerve fully. tissue inflammation in the thigh muscle itself from driving a lot. simple ibuprofen and rest. not that I cant stop driving. all the pedal pushing. repetitive motion. since I walk so much what is next?

You're describing is a chronic condition, or the beginning of one, brought on by repeated stress to unhealed, inadequately rested muscles which causes the muscle to stay in a state of tightened spasm. I injured muscles in my back many years ago, but I kept using them until the injuries became a chronic condition that left me pretty much useless and in an almost constant debilitating pain. Deep muscle massage on muscle trigger points is what finally made me useful again and free of the debilitating pain and freed me up to then strengthen the muscles.
Through repeated abuse injured muscles that aren't allowed to heal tighten more and more and lose their elasticity, pinching nerves passing through the muscle tissue, and cutting off adequate blood supplies drying up those muscles and surrounding muscles. Even the simplest of exercises and stretches just send the muscles further into the vicious cycle of use and the corresponding tightening of the muscle in response to that use.
What deep muscle tissue massage does is it literally, physically breaks the dry, stiff, stuck together fibers of the muscles apart
without actually using the muscle (which is what triggers the muscles protective spasm response)
. The breaking apart of the tissues allows blood flow and pressure on nerves to return to normal, and relax it, relieving the spasm, providing the conditions necessary to fuel the muscles rest and rehabilitation.
Okay, so I've made my post too long....
