Hello My name is Jasmin and I live in Northern California. I am a recovering Jehovah's Witness. Ha ha.. I am currently attending first covenant church and I love it but I am still struggling with the trinity. I have gotten a few books on it so I can grasp it a little better.

Hey Jasmine,
Good luck with fully understanding the Trinity!

This is how I explained the Trinity to my children when they were young:

First we made a triangle with our thumbs and forefingers. Then I explained, "This triangle is a little like God. Just like a triangle is made up of three sides, God has three parts: The Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit."

My children seemed to understand because they simply accepted it for what it was. The trouble with us grown-ups is that we tend to try and over-analyze or over-understand a simple concept!

Matthew 18:3

There have been serious amounts of books written on the trinity so I don't think it is a simple concept. It is a lot easier for someone to understand it if that is what they have been taught their whole life. I have been reading a lot about the trinity and it is very interesting historically. What I find really interesting is many ppl don't agree on what it is exactly. People also get very weird when you ask questions about it. I always have to make it clear that I want to understand it and I am not trying to challenge any ones ideas.
