UN-sponsored Human Rights Council proposed that the US Department of Education deny accreditation to colleges that teach creation and similar biblical beliefs.

Colleges in the U.S. are accredited by non-governmental agencies. Those colleges that deny science have their own accreditation agencies. So the whole idea is unworkable in the U.S. And it works. If you look at a college that teaches "alternative facts" to scientific knowledge, you will know that by the agency that accredited it.
 

Role of the U.S. Department of Education in postsecondary accreditation

The U.S. Department of Education does not accredit educational institutions and/or programs. However, the Department provides oversight over the postsecondary accreditation system through its review of all federally-recognized accrediting agencies. The Department holds accrediting agencies accountable by ensuring that they enforce their accreditation standards effectively.
