Dear Adelphia Power Link Customer,
Adelphia would like to make our customers aware of a new virus, the W32/Mydoom@MM. This new virus is a mass-mailing type of virus that arrives as an e-mail attachment. If the attachment is launched, it may allow access to your computer from a remote individual.
To minimize exposure to this and other email viruses we recommend using extreme caution or never opening email attachments.
As a reminder, to limit exposure and confusion, Adelphia will never send it's customers emails with attachments.
If your computer becomes infected, the worm creates a "backdoor" for attackers to remotely access your computer, files and network resources. In addition, the "backdoor" has the ability to download and execute arbitrary files onto your computer.
