New Years Resolutions

Since I made one years ago, the only one I have ever kept, I no longer make them.

That resolution was: Don't make any New Year's resolutions.

Same here. If someones says in Sept. that they are going to quit smoking as a resolution, why not just do it right then and there?

My resolution is this - to continue to seek the Lord. To not lean on my own understanding. To acknowledge that His ways are far above man's - and this is why I must seek His.

I have been asking God to show me the one thing that I could use His help on this year. I believe He is directing me to repent, and be resolved to lay down two areas, not just one.

First, to keep my tongue (thoughts) from evil, by God's grace. I am going to frame a few verses about this, and put them near the phone, and the computer, to start with. If I hide God's Word in my heart, then I am less inclined to sin against Him. I love to sketch, and paint, and I have taken to doing verses up with paint, or ink, and putting them around my home until someone asks for one. BTW, The Bible Sender has some neat drawings of Bible verses on here.

The second one, God just showed to me yesterday, and the first one would actually go along with this one.

To be reverent to God in my daily conduct. I am not sure where to begin with this one quite yet, because it is so far reaching ...lighting up every little corner, huh? So, I will trust God to give me verses, and show me that which will be pleasing to Him. The first place to concentrate, I think, is in love and obedience to God, and my husband. I am just going to trust God for the strength to please Him in these things.

Mutz, I think mine are related to yours as well. I will pray for you that God give you the wisdom, and strength, to keep yours forefront this year. The Lord bless all of you.
