NFL Draft

That ESPNRadio commercial with the little girl doing the show and tell project on relief pitching cracks me up every time. Did you see it?!

Hey, its rookie free agent Monday.

Although I was a little bummed after day 1, I am feeling very positive now about our draft. I admit we didn't get the early players I had hoped, but much of that was do to our inability to trade down. That wasn't Phil's fault, he did good in maintianing our value in #3.

I'm still worried about our QB situation most. I think we'll add some depth for our o-line in the June 1 free agency wave. I'd like to sign T.A. McClendon from N.C. State in the rookie free agent signings. He's got a lot of talent but gets hurt often. If he doesn't pan out, then we can cut him when the rosters get trimmed down to 52.

We got Fraser from Ohio state. ;-) The first rookie free agent signed by us.

288lbs of Defensive lineman. I always liked the way he played the game. He's definately a lunch pale football player.

Yeah, any guy off the Bucks D is a welcomed addition. I was reading about a few more highly pursued players signed or strongely pursued, I'll wait and see if they sign before I get my hopes up.

The draft puts the best players on the worst teams and they are never able to develop to their potential. Drafted quarterback in the early draft usually play behind weak offensive lines and have their career shorted. A good offensive line can make a mediocre quarterback look good.

Its also the middle draft choices that are the key to putting a good team on the field. Often you find a hidden star that played in the Division ll or a small school.
