Not good for a Christian.

When we say a particular thing, attitude, behaviour, etc is not good for a Christian to partake in...then we are indirectly saying it is good for the sinners.

Take for instance: A female actor could disagree to play the role of a smoker or whore etc. She tells you it aint good for a Christian. After all it didn't really happen in reality...when they smoke, whore about etc

So, is sinning typically for sinners?

food for thought. but well are we to be so holy. one cant play soccer because in order to win, a fornicating coach is brought in who knows how to win?

Actually, I think I would say, yes, the example demonstrated by a man like that could very well be detrimental to the shaping of young minds. That's a little more important than winning games.

Now, if the man drank a beer, or two, after a hot workout..... maybe not so much, since that is not contrary to God's word like openly whoring around is.

WOW... that is quite a contrast.Comparing a smoker with a whore :eek2. We all sin everyday. The Bible says if we say we do not sin we are deceiving ourselves. We will not be perfect and not sin until we get to heaven.

No comparison intended at all. Get the stuff.

Summary is: what we consider sinful = not good for a Christian - whatever that is.

Majority consider smoking/alcohol a sin

Right we should not deliberately commit sinful acts. Some are very obvious. Some things we do everyday that we are not so much in control of.Like thinking a sinful thought or having an angry thought about someone.I think anything we put into our bodies to do harm is a sin.Our bodies house the Holy Spirit.

I don't think that's implied at all. I used to be in the Boy Scouts, and the first item in the Scout Law is that "A Scout is trustworthy". Does that imply that everyone who isn't a member of the Boy Scouts is untrustworthy, or does it simply say that trustworthiness is expected of everybody, but especially of Boy Scouts? Likewise, saying that a Christians shouldn't commit adultery doesn't imply that it's okay for non-Christians to commit adultery, but that it's wrong for everyone, but Christians are expected to live especially pure and holy lives and are expected more than others to refrain from such behavior.

A born again Christian knows what the Bible says we should not do.Would you then go into a grocery store and steal a candy bar?

How in the world did you read what I said and get from it that I thought it was okay to steal?

I did not think you said it was ok to steal.I was using that as an example of doing something that is right or wrong. You are being defensive.

Yes, I do tend to get defensive when people imply that I condone sinful activity, as you did when you asked me "Would you then go into a grocery store and steal a candy bar?".

Where did I say that I condone sinful activity? And if you didn't mean to imply that I condoned stealing, why did you ask me whether I would steal?

I was trying to make a point.
"A born again Christian knows what the Bible says we should not do.Would you then go into a grocery store and steal a candy bar?"
I am saying as a Christian you would know not to deliberately go into a grocery store and steal a candy bar.

The majority need to rethink their theology.
.
The Bible does not directly mention smoking but it does addictions 1 Corinthians 6:12.
The Bible does have this to say about things we should not put into our body 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
So then you tell these people to take a look at themselves.Do they ever have a drink of alcohol?Do they ever over eat?Do they drink coffee? Then they can come back and judge others. The Bible does say that we are not to judge hypocritically.

I don't think you'll find anyone here would wouldn't agree that Christians should know right from wrong, but I'm still not seeing the connection to what I said. But since an explanation isn't forthcoming, I'll just drop it.
