First, how do you define rapture?
Being removed from judgment.
1. Enoch.
2. Lot and his family.
3. The Gibeonites.
4. The first exile.
The other option is to be kept through judgment;
1. Noah.
2. The exodus.
3. Rahab.
4. The second exile.
Are there examples in scripture on the chronology?
The fall of Jerusalem shows the following:
1. Manassah defiles the sanctuary.
2. There is a last revival under Josiah.
3. The same generation falls away.
4. There is a rebellion which results in invasion by the nations.
5. There is a first exile.
6. There is another rebellion that results in destruction with few that were kept.
The relation between the last trumpet and the rapture.
Most have made the association between the seventh trumpet and the rapture.
The text never states that it is the last of seven.
Placing the rapture after the seventh sets the stage for a debate that is inconclusive.
It also forces us to assign a non-literal interpretation to a lot of prophecy.
Nu 10 is the text that governs the use of trumpets.
Except for summoning leaders, all calls are made with two trumpet blasts.
Here's the problem, how do yo tell the difference between one and two blasts?
One blast is confirmed by a second.
Just like prophecy, one message is confirmed by another, the spoken word is the confirmation as it reflects the secret within made manifest.
The calls that are mentioned are those of;
1. Breaking camp.
2. Establishing a camp.
3. Assembly.
4. Alarm.
Within scripture, tactical communication is mentioned;
Ehud uses a ram's horn to mobilize Ephraim.
Joab uses a ram's horn to recall his troops and retire.
If we were to follow NU 10 and allow for the possibility of just two trumpets;
Mt 24 & 25 are now literal.
Revelations is now literal.
The church is nowhere to be seen, the rapture happens before the first event to be mentioned in Revelations.
