*Lesser addressed - I call it 'lesser addressed' because i see little resources devoted to defeating this belief.

Thread where anyone can take a swipe at a lesser addressed* religion: buddism. A seemingly benign belief system, it is actually secretly ('secretly' from its believer's perspective) a dangerous idea.

Example: ""to be free from suffering we must detach from desire," But people desire this. So by following thisreligion, you are committing the "sin" of desire.Desiring enlightnement (whatever that means) IS a desire. So don't you think buddissm is, like, Self Refuting or smth??"

Latin root word for religion is bondage, which is different then that of Gods pure religion of James 1:27, but that of following tradition and the doctrine of a mans church, not Gods true church. Religion tells you what you can and cannot do and becomes socially acceptable by mans interpretations, traditions and doctrines. Religion is what nailed Christ to the cross because this Bible is not socially acceptable to society, if it were then Christ would have died in vain. God is not about mans religion, nor does he recognize religion. God is about a personal relationship with you and His son Jesus Christ.

John 1:1 in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 the same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 all things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:4 in him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:5 and the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

I don't agree or subscribe to Buddhism. but the idea is to become enlightened by being free of the daily burdens of this world .money ,marriage ,etc.

they live a simple life ,honestly most western Christians could actually be more close to .

Then what is athiesm, if not a religion? Is Naturalism a religion?

But your definition of religion implies a thiestic one. Religion simply means 'an organized set of beliefs'.

There are over 5000 different religions in the world, do you think all of them are from the God of all creation?
An organized set of beliefs are not always belief in God and His Son Christ Jesus.

No.
The Bible talks about "pure religion". So clearly Christianity is the true religion.

I used to believe that Christianity was "not a religion" too. It seemed nice, but i came to realize it didn't really have a solid foundation.
Is it like any others? No, it is the only religion that is from God, rather than made up by creations.

Tru.
Only Biblical Christianity.

There is only one doctrine and that is the doctrine of Christ Jesus as there is no other.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
