I became a Christian about seven months ago and before that I was really into some occult stuff like using ouija boards and crystal gazing and reading tea leaves. I quit because a minister said Christians can't do those things but he never gave me a reason why. I don't worship stuff like that or believe it all the time but it's fun. I don't see any harm in just playing around with it sometimes do you?

Yes, cuz that crap WORKS. There is definitely a power behind it, and not a good one. I suggest you try to obtain a book called the Occult Encyclopedia(I think) by Kurt Koch. It goes in to ALL of this stuff. Stay AWAY from the Ouija Board. It's not a point of "worshipping" it, cuz no-one does. But, it is a channel for evil.

This a sad story and it is true. I knew once this young man God saved. He backslid and began to play with ouija boards, then after sometime, he slipped into a depression and ended up hanging himself.

As Steve warned, they are dangerous. Alone, we are no match for satan. We need Jesus Christ to save and keep us. Jesus didn't go to Calvary and die for us for small reasons, but to save us from what you are wondering about.

Don't play around with what Jesus died to save you from.
You need to treat sin as you would treat a snake in a baby's crib.

okaaay...
I am truly glad you have accepted Jesus. :)

please understand that there is a power that would like to ensare us..
and that even the lesser occult practises are dangerous that way.

As you read through the bible you will find the places where God's word
admonishes us to stay away from such things.. but for a practical reality..
you should avoid them.
pop in at http://www.exwitch.org and sift through the articles.
