What few cars we see look to be in the '70s, first few scenes are San Francisco, I would venture to guess the "outback" of Pismo Dunes, close to Guadalupe near Devil's slide at the end of the beach, before the Sierra Club shut down the dunes in the late '70s early '80s, ...we spent many hours there moving sand with a water pumper, hand built frame from roll bar tubing, stripped down VW front suspension, three point rear suspension with coil over shocks, balanced and blueprinted Olds 215 aluminum block stroked 5/8", Arias pistons, "new" at that time, experimental cam with the lobe centers opened up, Muncie aluminum case 4 speed with Ford 9" rear axle running 476 gears, she dyno at 383 HP at the wheels and tipped the scales right at 850 pounds, ...she was a far cry from old Bill's Ford flat-head 8's with dualies, ...after a couple of weekends the VW's didn't laugh at us any more when we unloaded her from the trailer, ...ah, those were the days, ...thanks for the memories.
