I'm still pretty new here, but being from Utah and knowing a lot about Mormonism I have had a few folks here ask me questions. So let me recommend a great book on the subject, "One nation under Gods," by Richard Abanes. It is a great read on the history of the mormon church from a non-biased point of view. It follows the history of the LDS church from Joseph Smiths birth all the way to the 2002 Olympics in SLC.

why do mormons defer to "seer stones"? why don't you rely on the holy spirit for guidance and protection? why would mormons seek revelations? are you looking for some sign of the times or something?

Umm.. You know I'm NOT Mormon right? I do know a lot about the religion so I'm happy to answer any questions about it , but do know that I'm NOT Mormon never have been and never will be.

Now as far as seer stones go, Joseph Smith used them to find buried treasure he was big into the occult. The modern LDS church does not use seer stones in any way that is just one of those many myths about Mormons that must be dispelled so we can better reach them with the true gospel.

well, it sounded like you were promoting that faith. they are heretics, let them be accursed.

the bible should be your only source, it contains all the answers for life and the afterlife. chrsitians shouldnt consult, wizards, holymen, scribes or other relgions to seek the truth. with all these so-called "christian sects" people have been driven so far from the lord.

Whoa! Let them be accursed!? Dude come on there is still hope for them just like everyone else, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD. They need him just like we do, and so many of my friends and family are Mormon I pray for them all the time, and I would never curse the lost no matter if they are Mormon, atheist, muslim, satanist or whatever. We all need Jesus and we as Christians need to be helping the lost find him not cursing them for being different.

do you know what that means? read galatians ch 1: vs 6-10. theres nothing about christians cursing them. they're cursing themselves by teaching false gospels and rejecting christ. but my point is let them follow their path, but you must remain true to christ.

keep ministering to them and warn them of their false teachings. remember matthew 10: 34-36, jesus will split family households. so the concept of your family and friends going to hell is quite real.

i worry about my family and friends too, that is why i minister to them and try to live an exemplary lifestyle in the hopes the holy spirit will open their hearts and they convert over.

however, if they are hard of heart and stiff of neck like the jews, then minister to them no longer. christ said, do not throw what is holy to dogs or pearls before swine. so even if you reveal scripture to them and they reject it, move on.

remember, the lord will reveal his message to whom he pleases.

Well buddy first you misunderstood me then I you. So lets just let it go. I agree we can only do what we can do to reach the lost GOD does the big part.
