"Having to go some place to pay homage to God every Sunday doesn't mean you're a good Catholic, or a bad Catholic, or whatever," said Gaul, a Boston equities trader. "I don't think you're going to die and go to heaven and hear, 'Frank, you didn't go to church for 15 years.'"

This is somewhat typical of Catholics his (Frank Gaul's age)... they grew up in a time of poor catechesis.

People like him (and his kids.. if he has any) are precisely why I'm a DRE (Director of Religious Education). Catechesis needs to get put back on track with authentically teaching people the Catholic faith.

My 7th graders (I teach 7th grade CCD/ Sunday school classes) have come a long way this year, by the grace of God and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit they have been learning a lot, asking good questions, and encouraging their parents to take a more active role in their faith life and get to Mass more often.
