wow! Just want to start this off by saying what a great sermon tonight BOTH at my local church, and also online through Newspring church in SC. Which to me IS AWESOME for I reside in FL.
As I've shared a couple days ago, I just recently allowed Christ into my life this year but am loving, learning, and enjoying every moment of it. I stumbled upon a great Internet tool... "pod casts" for I was tired of local radio stations. I fell on an amazing service provided by Pastor Perry Noble... All I can say is I anxiously wait for the chance I can listen or either watch his service online. I really take in all he preaches and truly see The Great Lord working through him.
I am just now finishing up one of the older sermons, "Adam and Eve" which is a 4 part lesson on how man (men) can be a better follower number one through Christ, but also a great Father and/or Husband to his family.
My girlfriend was brought up in a Christian school all the way until middle school, and then through high school and now college at regular public campuses. I would say sometime through high school she didn't lose her faith, but she def. changed her habits and way of following her heavenly father...
Obviously for me pursuing God in a "new follower" way my ambition and drive is strong. (hopefully I can keep this) But I've dropped a few hints to her mentioning, I wish our relationship together could grow stronger with the Lord.
The problem is... She is a full time Nursing student and full time worker... Now, I'm not saying that is more important then her belief. But she is struggling with stress, school, and obviously work. I've prayed for her.... I've hinted at her that maybe she should get back in the habit with talking with God, taking time out of her busy day to just read a scripture or two... I believe theres a borderline there on how far I should "push" this issue, or so it feels to me when I try to mention it.
Then I've even thought hey! Why not download the womens part of this sermon called "Eve and Adam" (for those of you who know what I'm talking about) which basically describes what I said earlier but in a womens perspective, and give her a copy of it on a CD! That way she can just listen to a little bit as she drives to school, work, etc...
I guess I'm asking from the more "experienced" folks... What do I do? I'm a little lost... and I am kind of ashamed to say, but it bothers me a little... should I understand that she is just busy with her career? (which believe me, I'm in public safety myself so I know how hard/tough school can be.) but how do I address this? Or do I even attempt to? Is it my problem?
I pray for her quite frequently, but its still a up and down process... any advice would be greatly appreciative.
Thank you
