Our Adventure Yesterday Coming Home From My Mom's House

Really wanted to share this...

So, we have snakes down here called cottonmouths. Big old mean venomous snakes.

My girlfriend and I were on our way to my apartment from my mom's and she noticed a snake in the road. I didn't see it. Told her to go back so I can see if I can help it across before it gets hit. Well, we were too late and it had already been hit, but still alive. It was also a momma with babies. Some dead, strewn across the road, and some alive and fighting to get out. I found a piece of wood and started to move the snake off the road and some of the babies came out but was only able to really save one and get it in the brush. I gave the others a fighting chance though.

The mom struck at me once and the one baby a couple of times.

We had gone to my mom's so that she can see me before the surgery to have my gall bladder taken out on Thursday and so I can lounge in her pool to help maybe take some of the pain away that I am feeling. It did work until we had the adventure.

HI Isilwen
As well as being very brave that was really kind of you. I would have been too scared of the snakes to help them. Hope they didn't catch you when they struck
Sorry about your gall bladder. I had to have mine out, it had gangarene, but I made a good recovery. Will be prayimg for you. Please let us know how you get on.
God Bless.

Well, that's what you get for trying to help a cottonmouth across the road. To each his own I suppose.

That is a huge amount of money
I don't like snakes at all. They make me feel nauseous to just to see a picture of one.

Well... If one had to prove how good of a Christian they were by how they felt about snakes... I fear I would FAIL miserably.... LOL.... EWWWWW and YUCK.... and NEVER ... all stirred in one pot.

And that is a low ball figure. Just google the cost of snake anti-venom care in a hospital.

I don't much like them either, especially the venomous ones. And where I live here in Texas I have killed every type of poisonous snake we have in the U.S., on my property.

Snake lore...so many stories in the South.

No good deed goes unpunished....

But what he did was very good of him...
I see your point.
I just keep thinking of a dying mother to be and the baby snakes...nature can be cruel.

We have snakes here too, most not venomous.
Most persons have a natural aversion to them.
Wonder if the feeling comes from The Garden?

The last snake I killed, 3 weeks ago, was not venomous. But he was slithering across the kitchen floor. That will get your attention.

I do believe our natural aversion does come from satan's use of them. Sure do.

Ok... I've GOT to stop looking at this thread.... OH my goodness..... I already have my feet up OFF the floor and we don't have snakes here.... BAD PHOBIA.... NO more peeking for ADDY.... LOL

Why do they have to have poison in then? Why can't they just gobble the rats up and leave us alone?
I do think the garden has something to do with our dislike. Emnity.

Sorry. Growing up with them you are always watching where your feet go. When you turn on a light at night, you hesitate before you move, because your checking the room out.

Can everyone STOP talking... LOL.... OH my goodness... I KEEP looking... because I keep receiving alerts...
This is the stuff that nightmares are made of.... HONESTLY....

Sorry to go off topic.... I will not make another peep... I have socks on... slippers on... rubber boots on... work boots with metal toes over top my rubber boots... and a bat..... READY for combat.... LOL....

Hopefully humour is embraced here... even if it means going off topic a bit. LOL

I agree, I've had many nightmares concerning snakes.

One last added detail and Ill shut-up. There was a person sitting at the kitchen table and the snake slithered right under her feet and she didn't know it. And I didn't tell her either.

I praised God I walked in when I did. Who knows where or what kind of encounter would have occurred if I didn't get him then.
