Aloha,

My wife and I are recently married. I'm 33 and she is 35. We have been having intercourse for about a month now. We lost our virginity to each other within the past two months. However, my wife often expresses to me that she wants our sessions to be done quickly and get them over with rather than just enjoy the moment of intimacy. She says to me that she wants me to finish earlier, because after a while it starts to make her sore or becomes uncomfortable for her. There are certain positions that cause her more discomfort than others, and it is only the missionary position that she finds that she can enjoy longer sessions than the other ones. I want her to enjoy intimacy more, and not be in pain. It's frustrating for both of us where she tells me that I don't finish faster enough, but I can't control my body either.

So, my question, is this normal for her? How long does this go on before my wife fully enjoys intimacy and is not worried about it being painful after a period of time? Should my wife seek a gynecologist to see if there might be something going on?

My wife also was told by her dermatologist last year that she has hormonal imbalance that caused her acne, and told her to take birth control pills to help regulate her hormones. My wife stopped taking them several months ago. So, could hormonal imbalance be an issue for causing her discomfort during sex?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Mahalo,
Kana
