Parable of the Chariot Church
For many months I've been led of the Holy Spirit to go around to different churches to experience their worship of God. What I found distressed me for many churches were either empty and devoid of worshipers of God, or the worshipers themselves were empty and devoid of any worship of God and instead worshiped themselves like Pharaoh and/or Caesar. As I stood in disbelief God spoke to me in a parable to explain his displeasure which I will now relate to you as the 'Parable of the Chariot Church'.
There was once a man who though he was God's gift to humanity, knowing how to act religious but never knowing to whom all his worship is owed. This man believed he was the modern day Noah that was selected by God to build a modern day Noah's Ark....a Church. This man went about building his Ark that drew many from miles around to stand and marvel at its slick modern design with all the multimedia gadgets that money could buy. This church was a modern day Noah's Ark television studio that left no room for anything else but the Preacher's Pulpit.
One day God spoke to this man asking if he had built the Ark that he had commanded him to build. The man pulled up video footage of sermon after sermon to show how successful he was at attracting huge crowds to all of his sermons. God then showed this man what he saw from heaven. God revealed to this man an empty Ark that had only one window where the man delivered all of his sermons but outside of the Ark were all of the animals that were meant to be inside the Ark but were now tied up like beasts of burden pulling the Ark across the desert.
God asked this man why were all of the Animals that he sent to him outside the Ark pulling it across the desert? The man replied that when all the animals began to show up he found them too dirty, unsophisticated, and quarrelsome to enter 'his' Ark. The man then said that none of the animals could appreciate his mastery of building 'his' ark and none of the animals could show him the proper respect due him that was warranted because of his scholarly and professional credentials.
God's anger grew at the thought that all of his precious animals, that he sent to this man to be in the Ark, were rejected and instead burdened with pulling the Ark across the desert while the man acted like a Pharaoh riding in his 'Chariot Church' displaying a vain worship of himself instead of the worship of God.
God said that he will now shower this man with all the scholarly and professional accolades that he so richly deserves and the sky opened up and the torrential rains began. All the animals suddenly began to stampede into the Ark, a stampede that no man could ever stop. When all of the animals were safely in the Ark the man who built the Ark found that there was no room left for him and he was standing outside in the rain.
God then closed the only door to the Ark leaving the vain, self-worshiping, 'man of God' outside of the Ark as the accumulating rain water began to lift the Ark off the desert floor. The man cried out to God for help while the water level rose ever higher, and God showed compassion for this man by throwing him a pair of swimming trunks and the whole library of this man's own video sermons and books!
God Bless
note:
It must be remembered that Moses and the Israelites walked across the parted Red Sea while all the Egyptians riding in their chariots were drowned. Preachers and lay persons who refuse to walk with God's faithful humbly, and instead try to cross the parted Red Sea in their chariots of vanity will never see the opposite shore! Which is why Jesus Christ walked with God's faithful (like Moses did leading the Israelites out of Egypt) and refused to 'curry favor' with the 'high and mighty' priests of the Temple.
Most churches today are, or are striving to be, 'Chariot Churches' where the attendees and staff enjoy confirming their faith in God by adorning themselves with as much materialistic vanity as they can possibly afford. These Chariot Churches link wealth with faith while Jesus Christ states that faith comes by HEARING (Romans 10:17) the word of God, not by seeing the wealth of other men. I don't remember reading where Jesus Christ told everyone to visit the temple to strengthen their faith by SEEING God through the opulence of the temple. If someone needs to be surrounded by wealth to confirm and strengthen their faith in God then it isn't faith in God but lusts coming from our own wicked sinful heart.
The animals in the parable are precious to God because they heard his voice and went to the ark (church) only to be burdened by the ark 'builders' selfish desire to place their gimmickry religious theology and/or rituals upon them instead of God's own Holy Word, “The Bibleâ€.
Also, many church leaders look upon God's faithful as the 'Children of God' but they instead groom them to become 'Adults of Evil' who promote and practice abortion, homosexuality, etc. along with all the other evils of a disintegrating hedonistic society. Imagine God one day asking all the 'worldly preachers' why did they raise HIS children to be hostile and disobedient to his word? Those 'Chariot Churches' with their Pharaoh Preachers will surely earn their place in hell!
Amen
