So far, this has been a great book. Anyone else read this?

"How God's Laws Guide Our Lives" is the subtitle

From Moody

Jesus told His disciples: "If you love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15). In Pathway to Freedom you'll find an approach to the Ten Commandments that underscores their permanent validity for living the Christian life.

Begg covers:

- The crucial relationship between the Law and Love
- The place of the Law since we are "not under the law"
- Our Lord's understanding and teaching of the Law
- The contemporary disregard for God's Law in both church and culture
- The age-old battle between legalism and license

I haven't read it, but I am familiar with Alistair Begg. I listen to him now and then on the net. He has a way of interjecting current culture into his sermons. Expecially Pop and Rock music. (he has used the lyrics of the Beatles, Paul Simon, etc. many times to make his point)

It was the debates about this topic from other forums on this site that led me to buy this book, I wanted to hear his (Alistair's) thoughts on this topic. I respect his ministry alot and believe he is a very gifted teacher. He does joke about music. I think people must give him a hard time about it (in a loving way), and it has become something he uses often to connect. He was born and raised in Scotland so the whole music scene must have made an impression on him as a child. Thanks for the link Vicjr.

God Bless

You are very welcome. If you get a chance, pick up a copy of his study on the Ten Commandments. It's called, "Guidelines to Freedom". Interesting study.
