1 Corinthians 7:12 (King James Version) But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.

Should this verse be in our Bibles? If this is not the Lord speaking[as Paul states] then should we regard this as Divinely inspirited? I'm not sure about this verse, what do you think?

...and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him NOT put her away.

YES!

But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she is willing to live with him, he must not leave her.

and why?

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the Christian husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.

The idea of covenantal relationship is all over these verses. How does a the unbeliever become 'sanctified' outside of covenant? They can't. It's also linked to divine election.

2 cents.
