No person or God or angel is named Peniel. Peniel is the name of a place.

Phanuel is a variant of Peniel. In the book of Enoch mentioned in Jude; and the book was also found in the dead sea scrolls. The book of Enoch states Phanuel is the Son of God. Peniel and Phanuel are basicly the same name.
