Pentecost is this Sunday, but a Christian friend of mine has no idea what Pentecost is. Her particular denomination does not celebrate or even recognize the day.
Acts 2 says: "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come....". What it's actually saying is, when the Fiftieth day was now come, they were all together in one place.
The Fiftieth day from what ?
Why don't more Christians celebrate the biblical Pentecost (Feast of FirstFruits) - Acts 2.
It is the day the Holy Spirit was poured out in power on the early Christian Church.
It is the day 3000 people were baptized (Acts 2:41), becoming the FirstFruits to God.
Pentecost has been called the birthday of the Church.
Christ is called the firstfruits: But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept (1Cor. 15:20)
"...Christ the firstfruits....(1Cor. 15:23)
We Christians, we who are redeemed, are called the FirstFruits unto God:
James
1:18
He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
"They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased [redeemed] from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb" - Rev. 14:4.
It seems that Pentecost - Feast of FirstFruits - is too Christian (Acts 2) to be ignored, and it's puzzling why so many Christians do ignore this particular holy day, since we are the FirstFruits to God and to the Lamb.
