5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,...

The Theological Method of discover has never been exercised in regard to tghis mystery which even the Jews can not explain reasonably, since in the century just before Jesus, they had tried to re-construct this device, called the Tefillim in Hebrew.
From Matt 23:3. above, we can read that Jesus ridiculed them for not having gotten it right.
It is a deeper mystery, though, that their construction, that the Old Testament would tell real Jews, (Christians included?), that they must wear these cubes of their forehead.

What that is all about has never been discussed in Christian publications, and the church leaders are both quiet on the subject, will not enter into the kingdom in regard to Tefillin, nor will they let anyone else, (like me).

Why is that?
I mean why do they hold investigators away?

The few Christians I have queried on this, explain that they fear the mystery is a dangerous door to open because the thoughts that an investigater might conjure in his research would be knowledge that could mislead him, in the way the astrology or such dark arts as they have heard about.

But if that were the wisest advice, how would christians have learned as much as they now know?
And doesn't the Bible explicitly condemn such cowardice:

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

There are many 'natural' and 'external' showings of spiritual matters in the O.T. and they have zero to do with pasting HIS WORD on the 'external' forehead or the right hand.

Point?
Is it your philosophy that such Bible matters be avoided or that the Bible has a lot of wasted commentary we need not trouble ourselves about??

What is you interpretation of this verse:

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

I sometimes get the feel that you want to move into the 'voo doo' sections of understandings...;)

The O.T. figures are just that. They are not 'magical' in their intentions, whereby if one pastes the Words on forehead or hand, that God magically responds.

I'd say the same thing about the 'stones' breastplate matters you brought up yesterday.

Yes, there are matters to be seen therein, but they are not matters of spiritual magic.

Uh, yeah, what about it? I am very fond of ALL of Gods Words and those of the Apostles as well.

What do they reflect? Very often they are more of a reflection of our own limited views of same, which measures I'd put upon my own sights as well.

God was not impressed with how the Pharisees turned His physical reminders (Israel was not given the spiritual aspect of the covenant, because they did not have the heart to do it - Deut 5:29) into superstitions...

Mat 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
Mat 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
