5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,...
The Theological Method of discover has never been exercised in regard to tghis mystery which even the Jews can not explain reasonably, since in the century just before Jesus, they had tried to re-construct this device, called the Tefillim in Hebrew.
From Matt 23:3. above, we can read that Jesus ridiculed them for not having gotten it right.
It is a deeper mystery, though, that their construction, that the Old Testament would tell real Jews, (Christians included?), that they must wear these cubes of their forehead.
What that is all about has never been discussed in Christian publications, and the church leaders are both quiet on the subject, will not enter into the kingdom in regard to Tefillin, nor will they let anyone else, (like me).
Why is that?
I mean why do they hold investigators away?
The few Christians I have queried on this, explain that they fear the mystery is a dangerous door to open because the thoughts that an investigater might conjure in his research would be knowledge that could mislead him, in the way the astrology or such dark arts as they have heard about.
But if that were the wisest advice, how would christians have learned as much as they now know?
And doesn't the Bible explicitly condemn such cowardice:
Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
