Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.

Physical progress.

It's been hitting me hard lately that God desires that I not be slothful, and I need to take it upon myself to straighten up and become strong in my body as well, not grow only in spirit -- in fact I believe the two are mutually beneficial. Do you agree with this? Is there scripture supporting this? I am very invested in the topic (Lord grant that I become invested in the action!) and I'd like to see what you all have to say.
30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.' (Mark 12:30 NASB capitals in original)

Years ago I realized if you want to serve the Lord how important it is to get enough sleep and not over indulge unhealthy foods and generally take care of yourself so you can have the strength the Lord says to love him with. I'm not a health nut but our elder's counsel to get 8 hours of sleep, drink lots of water, and get regular exercise of some kind seems to be some of the truest and wisest things our parents ever taught us.
