'2007 is the Year of the Open Door' - giving Deuteronomy 8:1-3 as encouragement to 'go in & possess the land I have given you'

Any see http://www.joycemeyer.org on Christian TV today?

http://www.christianforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=24248

Her encouragement to determine to study God's Word more was from Joshua 1:3 etc

As autologout looms, I'll link to a thread that has many links to help older & disabled folk in UK Govt's new drive to get as many as possible back into work..

http://www.christianforums.net/viewtopi ... 833#308833

Having been Registered Disabled for most of my working life, & experienced a downturn in health over the past year, I await assessment by http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk Disability Employment Advisory Service

Just time to add that, maybe in God's perfect timing, I'm awaiting a new debit card, as the numbers on mine are now so faded as to be unreadable - so I couldn't sign up for paid surveys online (having yahoo'd those last 3 words)

As I have 2 more days to await my new debit card, I'll ask Govt & bank advice & would sure value prayer - it sounds perfectly legit that, with the advance of the 'Net saving firms the cost of running local & regional market survey events, many, many companies choose to pay folk to do online surveys & many folk earn a legit living doing them

I would love to be able to earn a living & come off Benefits, as an encouragement to others in an area that has 2 times the UK average of folk with bad chests

How @ your plans/hopes for '07?

God bless!

Ian

Trust my gut and do what it says.

far too often does my gut tell me that this girl is bad news, or someone is cheating on me, and I don't listen. I'm done with that.

other than that personality helper.
get above a 3.2 gpa next semester, then a 3.5 gpa. Help bring my Fraternity a lot of community service opportunities. work my butt off so I can start paying off loans NOW..

ya thats about it.

Hi Peace

I came in, funny enough, to encourage folk to do sensible research before making important decisions: our gut instincts can be fooled & get kinda jaundiced etc

Proverbs talks about the wisdom of many counsellors

& much about prayer & seeking God's will & guidance thru His Word & thru 'those over us in the Lord'

I'd had an email claiming that companies put 'hundreds, even thousands of new market research surveys online every day' - paying an average that means that many folk earn £10-£20 an hour doing them

But the top survey agency that they recommended just offered 60 cents per survey - that take 20-25 minutes each to do

I just had time, before lunch, to yahoo earn on the Net

& it looks an absolute minefield - some may wanna yahoo Net theft

& Net scams

I sign on Thurs am, so I'll enquire @ genuine, vetted ways to earn a living online in the daily 3 hours folk are allowed on public library PCs

No wonder my Disability Employment Adviser said, "Don't jump into anything without checking with me first"

Again, at my age & health/employment record, an Asset Centre assessment is very advisable indeed, as there are very probably both things I think I can do that I can't, & things I think I can't do that I can

& medical referral to a Therapeutic Gym can safely increase the possibilities under professional supervision to ensure I don't overdo it in my natural enthusiasm

It's worth going thru the advised procedures, as there are many young folk in my home area whose dads & grandads have never worked, so they have no sense of hope or confidence @ their future prospects

If someone of my age & health/employment record can be made fit enough to get & keep a job that pays a living wage, that could encourage many to realise that they too have possibilities

Any more wanna share '07 hopes & plans, etc?

God bless!

Ian

Readers may wanna invite friends/family etc in here, to make the most of the next few days' unique opportunities to reflect on what changes may be needed to improve the quality of life:-

http://www.christianjobs.com/

This public PC can't open that

& I have a strong feeling that short sentence will be a meaningful parable?

Many college, etc courses start on Monday & there are always last minute cancellations, so it may well be that you know someone who needs to think things over & try again, yes?

I'll just yahoo Christian training

It just occurred to me that the OP title includes seeking God's will & guidance corporately - for each church, community, city, county, country & continent

I may not be able to get online again today, so someone may wanna yahoo community transformation & emerging church & Christian communes etc - all ideas that came as I walked here

Or just share any Christian corporate vision that God brings to mind, yes?

See Philippians 1:6

Must go

God bless

How many anticipated the OP title being widened yet again?

As many folk prepare for work/studies, etc to start on Mon, maybe you IT experts can enlighten us all @ this feature rating the most important development of '06 as being how 'Wikiworld' is changing all of life:-

http://www.crosswalk.com/news/weblogs/J ... 06#1461090

It sounds to me like 1950s sci-fi..a kinda virtual Brave New World that pretends to be connected, but in fact isolates everyone?

Returning to UK Govt drive to bring as many older/disabled etc folk as possible back into work, I forgot to share, on Sat, the fascinating title of an email I got from http://www.legitonlinejobs.com - Is there really such a thing as legitimate telecommutable job?

As I shared above, research I did @ it, & @ a similar email from the first similar company that came today, seems like a minefield - some are designed to draw you into gambling; some are plausible & non-verifiable excuses that companies give for not paying you for work you may do

Today's opening gambit was "you can earn up to £10 just for filling in an online survey"

Then, when you read thru the small-print clicks, you get just £0.05p/1p/2p according to unfathomable, mysterious criteria which they say that they cannot spell out in case it encourages abuse

Or you'll be told that it turns out that the quota of surveys needed has already been received so no more can be paid for - or that you didn't fit the target group after all

One email says that 'any company that charges you to work for them is a scam' - then calmly says that 'you must understand what you are paying for here: you are not being charged to become an employee because we do not employ you; you just pay to use our database'

But such database is of companies wanting product reviews, surveys, etc, subject to these convoluted conditions that allow them not to pay, etc

Is 'Wikiworld' just a sticky web/secret net to trap & rob everyone?

We sure need 'sons of Issachar, who know how to interpret the times'

Anyone out there?

Must go

God bless!

Illinois Christians Issue Friendly Challenge to U.S. Churches: 'Increase Missions and We'll Match It!'

Church members and congregations in Champaign County, Illinois, are issuing a friendly challenge to churches across the U.S.: 'Increase Missions and We'll Match It!'

According to a Religion News Service release, these folks are putting their money where their challenge is. Individuals and congregations have been building a fund to match new missions spending by congregations nationally. Mission Match®, a project of empty tomb®, inc., currently has $63,000 available to match new mission spending by congregations.

The first match was in 2002. As of 2006, Mission Match has distributed a total of $62,000 to match $106,609 in 'new mission money' raised for 47 congregational projects. Now Christians in Champaign County, IL, want to step up the pace.

Funds have been contributed by individuals and congregations have also contributed to the fund. To date, congregations have received Mission Match funds for a variety of projects including: the building of a pastor-training center in Cambodia; a water system for a village in Haiti (sponsored by a youth group); a self-esteem program for low-income youth in Ohio; and educating women in Tanzania. Projects have been located in 21 countries, in addition to eight projects in the U.S.

Reform of German Churches at Point of No Return
Wolfgang Polzer

Congress Launches Steps to Make Protestant Churches Fit for 21 st Century

WITTENBERG -- The mainline Protestant Churches in Germany have launched a process of radical renovation and renewal which they hope will make them fit for the 21st century.

The process has reached a “point of no return,†said the Protestant leader, Bishop Wolfgang Huber, at the close of a three-day congress on the future in Wittenberg, January 27.

In the East German town where Martin Luther started the reformation in 1517 roughly 300 representatives from the churches and public life discussed prospects and perspectives for a more agile and missionary minded church in the coming decades.

The former “people’s church†in Martin Luther’s home country has suffered continuous membership losses since the seventies. This decline is likely to continue, mainly for demographic reasons: Germany is suffering from a severe lack of children.

If nothing changes, the total membership of the mainline Protestant churches will drop from 25.6 million to 17 million by the year 2030. The annual income from church tax – currently four billion Euros (US-Dollars 5.2 billion) – will be halved.

Church attendance is also low. Less than four percent of all church members worship on an average Sunday. The aim is to stop membership losses and raise the average worship attendance to ten percent.

Summing up the congress in Wittenberg Bishop Huber said the deliberations had not focused on statistics but on the need to strengthen the faith and the quality of spiritual life within the 23 regional churches.

Huber rejected allegations in the media that the Protestant churches are too inward looking. In a modern pluralistic society it is of utmost importance to discuss the role of religion, he said.

The churches would continue to challenge social and political problems like unemployment, globalization and education, but their primary competence was in the field of religion. The intention is to position the Protestant Churches as a “church of freedomâ€Â, said Huber.

During a reception Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble called for “strong, courageous and forward looking churchesâ€Â. It would be a great encouragement for society as a whole, if churches tried to find the way into the future without moaning about the need for radical and sometimes painful reforms.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No good premillenial, pre-Great-Tribulation Rapture believer can avoid saying that Jesus' Matthew 24 promise to 'cut short' this 'fig tree' climax generation of all history means if you want to do anything for God, the intensifying, accelerating 'birthpains' serve to bring on that Great Delivery

Israel was reborn 'in a day' - as Malachi prophesied - in the year I was born: 1948

My Bible College grad mum always said, "Ian, you'll never reach a decrepit 70 on Earth - you'll receive the same kind of Resurrection body as is promised in 1 Corinthians 15:51-58"

Plan to 'encourage each other with these words'

Plan to complete our Great Commission & hasten our Lord's return, OK?

I'm sure that talk @ firstfruits principles @ http://www.paulawhite.org will be repeated tonight

Meditation 2/4 - 2/10: Eph 1:11-14 NIV

Marked with the Holy Spirit

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession - to the praise of his glory.

My Answer: Why Can't I Keep New Year's Resolutions?
Billy Graham

Q: I didn't even bother to make any New Year's resolutions this year because I never can keep them. Every year, I'll make a long list of things I'd like to change about my life, but after a few weeks I usually break my resolutions. What's wrong with me? My friends don't seem to have this problem. - P.D.

A: I've found that most people who make long lists of New Year's resolutions usually end up breaking them before too many weeks are up. Perhaps your friends just didn't make very many resolutions!

But as you've discovered, it's far easier to make a resolution than to keep it. Why is that? It is because good intentions aren't enough. Instead, we need the inner strength to see them through - and that's what we usually lack. By ourselves, we are weak and have a very hard time changing our old ways of living - even when we know what's best for us.

That's why we need Christ in our lives, because when we open our hearts and lives to Him, He gives us a new desire to do what is right. But more than that, He gives us a new strength to do what is right - the strength of the Holy Spirit. This is why the Apostle Paul could say, "I can do everything through him (Christ) who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13).

Let me urge you to do two things. First, if you have never done so, ask Jesus Christ to come into your life. By a simple prayer of faith you can commit your life to Him today. Then turn to Him every day and ask Him to help you turn from sin and live the way you should. Let your prayer be that of the psalmist: "Grant your strength to your servant" (Psalm 86:16).
