I'll take whatever job I can get. As for why I don't have any friends, I'm a pathetic loser and a misfit. I wish it wasn't so but it is.
Good that you're willing to take any job. You must start somewhere and your age, and health, and training, and knowledge up to this point will make up the boundaries for the job you can get. Try and determine the job you would like, and train for it, while taking any other job at present time. Always praying about it.
I think many things are involved in our own estimation of ourselves. Our raising, our past experiences in this world, our past failures, past relationships. These things are real and do affect us, and affect the way we think about ourselves.
As a Christian, my estimation of myself, my value, must come from what God says it is. Not from my outward circumstances. Read the story of the rich man and Lazarus. (Luke 16:19-31) Did Lazarus outward circumstances affect God's estimation of him. Not in the least. Lazarus was a man of faith, a child of God.
And how about Abraham and Sarah? You will find them in the great faith chapter in the book of (Hebrews). (Heb. 11:8-19) Quite a glowing account I would say. But, when you read of their experiences during that time in the book of (Genesis), you will see their failures all along the way, culminating in their even laughing at God's promises to them. (Gen. 18:9-18)
Truth is what God says. And God said they were great in faith. God can say that because it is His opinion of his people no matter their outward condition. As (Rom. 4:16-18) says, 'who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.' God does not require us to be successful. Only faithful.
Knowing our value to God, should change our estimation of ourselves. I am important because I am important to God. Not because I got a raise last week at my job. But we need a job, and friends, and we can trust Him to bring both.
