Please pray for my girlfriends Ulcerative Colitis....

I would appreciate it....

If I could take on the sickness I would..... In fact I am more deserving of a horrible disease than she is.....

Funny how the "fairness" of God works out?

I have a kid brother, only 44 who has Crohn's disease and several years back, they had to take out about 18 inches of his small intestines. Before all this happened, he weighed about 190. Now, he may hit 130 wet. It's not a good condition to be in at such a young age. If you don't care for an ol' Protestant praying for her, I'd be glad to bring her before the throne of grace and mercy. If you don't mind...what's her first name?

I believe in the healing power of God. I've seen it and know of those who have experienced. God does hear and answer prayer. Despite any differences I may have with anyone on this board, there's a world of difference when someone is in need of touching heaven and needs a healing touch from the Master. I have a soft heart about this and will sincerely do what I say...it's not just lip service.

Soma-Sight,
Your girlfriend is in my prayer as are you.

Funny how the "fairness" of God works out?
I personally believe Gods fairness is perfect. The problem is we just don't understand it because we don't have all the information God has. We don't have the ability to see the big picture and we don't understand his ways.

For the Christian we are to to rejoice in the Lord always. That includes good times and bad times.

James 1
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Again you are both in my prayers and I hope you will truly seek God and his wisdom.

Please remember that all things will work for the glory of God and all things are done for a reason.

Our most precious heavenly father we praise you in all things. We praise you for the joy and pain because it brings us closer to you and your will. Father you know the affliction this girl is enduring and if it be your will I would ask for her healing. I ask that you put your hand on her and comfort her in her times of trouble. Above all I ask that you let her know you are Lord and that she is important to you. Lord let your will be done to glorify you above all others.
In Jesus name
Amen.

Good responses. Consider me on board, Soma, may the Lord have mercy and heal her completely, and may her current suffering be worked out to the glory of God and the deepening of joy in her life, in this age and the age to come.

I am not a praying person, but I hope she gets better. They have recently learned that stomach ulcers are caused by bacteria and can be treated with antibiotics. Maybe the same thing is true for this type of ulcer.

If there were magical karma, this would make sense. But the world seems to randomly pass out good and bad things. Enjoy the good and minimize the bad.

Some people like to see this as a test from God or some further hidden lesson. I don't think this is good because what lesson does an 8 year old girl get if she is raped and killed? If there is a God, I think He lets things happen as they will. You have to overcome it, if you can, or succumb if you can not.

I hope it works out well for her.

Soma,

It is horrible when ones that you love go through pain and suffering. Sometimes, I wonder if we suffer more in certain cases.

Life's not about being fair Soma. It never was and never will be. The way I understand it, is life is an experience and when I look at all the suffering around me and close to me and inside of me... I begin to understand how God loves both you, me, Quath, Norm, James, D64 and everyone else.

There is good, there is bad like there is sin, suffering and deliverance. But anyway I have looked at it (and I've looked at it with several different glasses), there is only one God and as skewed as we may perceive him at times, he is always there and he does not change... Only our understanding of him as He reveals himself just at the right time... never late, never early...

Soma, May God's will be done in your life and your girlfriends as I know you will pray for her; and when you do, pray to God with all your heart and all your soul. When you are finished, it will be my prayer that you will begin to see how this love, is the same love that you should have for your neighbor, for this is the beginning of the love that the Lord has in store for you to experience.

In passing, Matt 5 states that blessed be the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Soma, in your prayers, may you find a glint of heaven.

May God continue to richly bless you.

Her name is Jennifer....

Thanks a lot to all you guys as prayer is (believe it or not) very important to both of us and we both pray together for healing and guidance.....

It really sucks to have to see someone you care about more than anything that has always been health conscious bleeding to death like that......

I will print out these prayers and show her for encouragement....

God Bless
