Things are moving fast......too fast....I'm scared. My wife has been gaining weight quickly and is bloated. I insisted she see a doctor. Friday she had a ultrasound. A large mass was found, probably cancer. They want to her see right away Monday. Hystorectomy imminent. Ovarian cancer most likely diagnosis. Immediate surgery expected.

My prayers are with you and your wife. I pray that the diagnosis not be cancer. It is very good that she is seeing a Dr and getting things taken care of.
A note of encouragement, hopefully,. My mother had ovarian cancer when she was 75. Surgery and chemo, though she got mad at her Dr and stopped chemo after nine months. They wanted her to do 12 and then another 12 just to make sure! I don't think they do things like that any more, this was 1985. She was cancer free, with no recurrence. She was with us another 20 years, strong and healthy. When she broke a hip at 95, she was ready to go Home and that is what she did.
So even if your wife's diagnosis is cancer, don't be discouraged, and when you feel afraid, lean on friends and family and mostly God

Yes, I am praying.
And as has already been said, medicine is better and better all the time. Early last year my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and the sophistication of the weapons against it were really impressive. She is very alive and well.

just a thought...

some places offer vitamin C infusions and injections and infusions of other nutrient "cocktails," to go -with- standard treatment, -with- the standard treatment people involved. in -some- cases...it seems to make the adverse effects of standard treatment a lot easier to deal with, and it -might- help make treatment more effective, but the research is just now being (re)done (there was a flurry of research in the 60s and 70s...now, it seems to be making a comeback, somehow...).

sorry about the - - and all...I am -not- giving medical advice, its just something I'd personally look into, because I've found high dose oral supplementation has made my own Rx treatment (for the...err...'affliction...') easier to deal with, possibly (?) more effective.


other than that...of course, praying for your wife+you+the rest of the family.

Update. Anjanette (we call her Ann) indeed was diagnosed with Stage 1 Ovarian cancer. The mass was 9 inches by 9 inches and was successfully removed without rupture. A complete hysterectomy was performed along with some sort of cautionary surgical wash of her abdomen. Local lymph nodes were removed as well. None of the lymph nodes showed positive for cancer. Post-surgical complications were limited to swelling which affected her leg and this resolved itself in about a week. She has to undergo chemo. and has completed her first round. She recovered from her first round quickly and is gaining strength for round 2 which will be in 2 weeks. After the second round, she will be half way through. She is a real trooper. She handed the whole thing over to the Lord. She told Him "I don't know what you're doing with this, but I give it to you come what may".

It took me quite a while to recover from the shock of the diagnosis, the subsequent surgery, post-surgery, and getting through the first round of chemo. and now....I fear her being exposed while in a weakened state. This shook me to my core.

I've always taken it for granted I would die first. I'm 5 years her senior. I have always taught her everything I knew so she would always be able to take care of herself. She knows minor auto repair. She knows general household repair. She knows finances. She prepped and sold property, major appliances and vehicles. I've always explained thoroughly why I say what I say and do what I do. Even what and why my thoughts on things.
I never thought about being left alone. The student became my teacher. I now realize how dependent I am on her. Humbling. Sobering.
