pledge 2021 1st january to stop all sinful addiction you have!

Hi holy999,

I'm so happy to see you here among the brethren of Christ Jesus! This is really wonderful! This is my thought about making New Year's Resolutions and plans. There is no promise of tomorrow and Jesus may come at any time. The most logical plan would be why wait for a day we don't know if we will make the New Year? Something could occur and we missed the opportunity to get our life right with God. Jesus advised us to be always ready for His coming, so now would be the best time. Once again, it's a pleasure to see you and others I've known at this site.

Shalom,
David/BeauJangles

Fair enough. That would be my worst addiction right now.
If I can't stop reading my Bible everyday, is that called an addiction too?
Not that internet forums are healthy addictions.

I kind of write it tongue-in-cheek, but truthfully even good things can become bad if they become overly important. If my Bible reading is to the extent I don't give a rip about my wife, my neighbor, or my prayer time then I think it has become inordinately important. In fact, as I grow in my faith, I find the dangers to derailing my faith not from the "bad" sins, but rather from letting good things become too important. And yes, writing on forums is a good thing that easily could become a bad thing for me.

Interesting post for sure. Good insight. Thanks.
