[Poet of Ephraim]

To see another's faults reflected within you,
To hear their ways echo all they have been through,
To hold their dream dear and try to assist them,
To believe in them when all others resist them,
To give them your time like it's theirs to begin with,
To trust they mean well when they seem offensive,
To be sick with worry if they suffer in health,
To love your neighbour as you love yourself.

You writhe
Till you die
You pray
Till you lay
In God's loving arms
Awaiting new dawns
When you feel
Till you heal
And grow
Till you know
The gain
From your pain
The new
That comes from the old.
