Pool of Bethesda – The Rapture Revealed - 2018
Simply stated I believe that the Pool of Bethesda in John Chapter 5 is symbolic of the man's attempt to cure itself with man-made treaties, which fails miserably, precipitating the rapture as God's final cure.
Consider that in John Chapter 5:1-15 Jesus approaches a lame man in dire need of some medical attention and offers to heal him. The lame man explains to Christ the purpose of his presence at the pool and how everyone is waiting for the waters in the pool to stir signifying the possibility of a cure for the first persons who enter the truculent water.
Mankind is always watching and hoping that some miraculous event will stir the waters of restoration (hint: Geneva Convention, NATO, United Nations, etc.) leading to a treaty of some sorts signifying the possibility of an imminent halt to man's predictable descent into crippling ruination due to sin.
The water in the pool represents man's collective desire to establish a beneficial behavior (hint: a treaty) that promotes the well being of all those who enter the pool. Today mankind has created many pools of Bethesda like the Geneva Convention, NATO, NFTA, European Union, United States Constitution, United Nations, Mosaic Law, etc. to represent an agreement to ensure the continued vitality of all those who enter the water.
In John 5 Jesus approaches the lame man at the edge of the pool and asks if he desires to be healed in a different way. Jesus then simply announces to the man to get up and walk. The implication is that man with the help of God, God who is Jesus Christ - God become man, will be able to trust Christ's word of restoration (hint: get up and walk) over the sparse hope of entering a pool of turbulent water (hint: man-made treaties).
It is interesting that it states in the story that the lame man was afflicted for 38 years when this miracle of restoration took place. Could the restoration of the lame man be some sort of jarring unanticipated spiritual event like the Rapture? After such an event everyone will believe that Jesus Christ is indeed God become man and all those who trust and believe in Jesus Christ (hint: all those who get up and walk – an act of faith) will be taken up into heaven to be restored and reconciled with God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit.
Consider that there is a 'Grand Daddy' of all treaties – The Vienna Convention Law Of Treaties – which was adopted in 1969 but was not put into full force until 1980. If the Pool of Bethesda represents treaties, and the lame man represents all those who fall under those treaties such as the Vienna Convention Law of Treaties, a treaty that many hope will cure all of mankind's societal ailments (hint: one world government), then some spiritual event concerning a belief in Jesus Christ will take place 38 years after its activation (hint: affliction) which would be 2018.
Could the rapture occur sometime during the year 2018 as it is the 38th year of the Law of Treaties becoming active? One could exposit that God already considers the Law of Treaties as a de facto one world government created by mankind.
It must be noted that the lame man was cured in the presence of Jesus Christ. The rapture will also occur in the presence of Jesus Christ who will appear in the clouds to all of his faithful believers. The Antichrist will also replicate the presence of Jesus Christ at the Pool of Bethesda by claiming that he, the Antichrist, can rid mankind of all of its lameness due to sin.
Whether the rapture happens next year, or is some still future year far off, you'll need to be a believer in Jesus Christ in order to be a participant in the restorative power of a faith in Jesus Christ. Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and rest assured that whenever the rapture takes place you will be snatched up into heaven and live a life of eternity with God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit.
