Oh Solo, if you only knew how much I pray for you.

And worry not. I don't give Hinn the time of day. I saw a special once where he was confronted on some lies and watched him backpedal and make up more lies. Very disturbing.

I don't rely on hankies but on the Author and Finisher of my faith.
 
Vic I did not know about that stuff. But you know it would seem like to me, if this is the case with Benny Hinn, how come this stuff is not put out there. Now I have never sent money to Benny Hinn or any other TV evangelist. But I have always liked Benny. Even my wife's sister and her husband are against Benny.
Tell me Vic when you saw this show, did it show some kind of proof ? Did they get something on camera, on Benny Hinn, or others. And if this is known about Benny, how can other well known men and women of God support him ? As a great man of God, without damaging their own ministries ? Do you also put Oral Roberts in this category also ? But anyway God does give some a gift of healing
and He is still doing so today. And as for the Prayer hanky, He can still use them too. And what about anointing the sick with oil to recover. I mean it's just oil right ? But this oil is prayed over right ?

I am not trying to get off topic here, but oil is being used just like the hanky, or am I wrong here ? And also lovely thanks for your post.

Thank you for requesting prayer Solo. Although it has come across more as a demand, I accept it as a request.

Here is a rough draft of my prayer. Lord While it appears that Solo has acknowledged that there is something lacking in his life, and while humbly acknowledging that we all are lacking in certain areas. therefore (in my opinion) having nothing to do with being more spiritual. I here by trust you with him, realizing that his baggage is not mine, and that I have no power to do any thing about his other than to perhaps point to it. I leave this issue with you trusting that you will provide him with what you know he needs in order for him to arrive at the destination and/or purpose that you have desired for him in this life....Amen.

I have heard the other side of the story which sounds just as convincing. I have seen Benny Hinn defend himself of those accusations. I have seen him interviewed on public TV where he was asked those questions.

I personally have not contributed a cent to his ministry. But here is the bottom line...As long as he continues to receive the financial support required to continue doing what he is doing. there is not much anyone can do about it. And his monthly budget for his ministry is more than huge, which means he has a lot of support out there.

And when he can no longer do it someone else will begin doing it in his absence. And criticism I believe does nothing to stop it. In fact I suspect it has the opposite effect.

He has had a huge amount of opposition and each time it is made public he appeals to his audience for more support. and it works for him.

Disclaimer....Nothing I have said here is meant to be construed to mean that I ether support or condemn the man or what he does.

I have watched Benny Hinn a long while ago, I remember just one show that stuck out . A little boy of 8 had cancer and came up to the stage along with his dad. Benny knelt down and when he touched him benny started crying and said I can not heal you. The child said I know Jesus told me and smiled at him, then walked back to his parents. This was at an Easter convention , then on Easter Sunday service the child made his way back up and when Benny saw him he went to him and the child said Jesus said I can be healed now . Benny laid his hands on the child and started to pray for the boy, crying the whole time.

The boys doctor from St Josheps Hospital was interveiwed and said at the urgeing of the childs parents they ran tests on the boy when he returned home . The tests showed no cancer anywhere. That is remarkable that the cancer was gone. I can not believe a hospital and a onacologist would put their reputaition or that of the hosptials in jeperdy for a hoax. If anything they would go out of their way to disprove a healing at Gods hands , But the doctor in this case simply said I don't know what happened but the cancer is gone. Anyway that is the one show I can remember because it was a child and if the doctor was right and the test were right then I would have to say that GOD for some reason only he knows came through Benny Hinn and heald the boy.

Lewis, I understand your scepticism, but I would exercise extreme discernment when it comes to this. I am going to contact HBO to see if can still get a copy of the documentary. I will gladly buy and send you a copy if I do, this way you can see for yourself. The accusations are substantiated. They even followed up on some of the people he claimed to have healed. They interviewed the man with the bad eyesight. He told them himself that he had fallen and got hurt. The wrongful death suits are public record, if one knows how to go about procuring copies of them.

Yes, I put Oral Roberts in the same category, along with a whole list of people. Earlier I posted something in Latin. It was a saying Martin Luther was fond of using. The translation of what he said, "The world wants to be deceived." Listen, I'm not in the business of character deformation, but there seems to be so much to this, the claims and proof are overwhelming.

As for annointing with oil, well, as you pointed out, it is Biblical. Even we Southern Baptist annoint with oil.

I'd take a cue from your in-laws Lewis.

Mind control... a surefire sign of a cult following. remember Jim Jones? Moon? To this day, O.J. still denies his innocence, despite losing a Federal civil suit case. I don't believe him either.

While I'm not a big fan of Joel Olsteen, I must use him as an example of how this should be handled. He drwas no salary from him ministry and never asks his congregation or viewers for money. Despite that, they maintain a very large arena and manage a weekly broadcast, among other things. I may not agree with some of his teachings, but this shows he at least has some integrity.

2 Cor 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Rom 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

1 Cor 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

I was watching one of the Benny Hinn circuses one day and it showed him "slaying in the spirit" everyone that came on stage. He would bump them in the forehead and they would fall backwards on the floor supposedly overtaken with the spirit. I remember this one lady that was supposed to be so overtaken spending most of her time on the floor trying to make sure her shirt was still covering her belly. It really was quite funny.

I find people like hinn to be disgusting charlatans that are out for quick money of which they are making millions. People want something to hold on to and this person offers it in theatrics and pomp. I wonder how many limousines he is up to now parked outside his mansion?

You guy's do have me thinking, about this Benny Hinn thing, but I will have to investigate these claims, before I give up on him. And I have also heard people say bad things about Paul and Jan Crouch, and TBN.

Ok now whats wrong with Paul and Jan Crouch ? These people made it so that many, many people can hear the Word of God.
 
I am still waiting. What is wrong with Paul and Jan Crouch, and TBN as a whole. I think Paul and Jan get a bad rap, for all the good that they have done in the name of the Lord, by spreading the Gospel all over the planet.

Trust your Spirit Lewis and remember... we are not saying bad things about them as much as we are exposing the bad things we discover about them.

But trust in the Lord... :angel:
 
Yes Vic, I understand but now, I am just talking about Paul And Jan, and I might even be working for these people later this month. Because they purchased channel 48 here in Philly and Burlington N.J. and I have a opportunity to work for this station, I will know for sure in a week or 2. But anyway what has Paul and Jan done ?

I will admit that some of the preachers, that come on TBN should not be on there. So ok a little cleaning up is needed. But these 2 people have spread the Gospel in more homes than anyone. Now about Jan levitating, I don't believe that one at all. That one I just won't buy. I might get blistered for saying this, but I like them both, very much. Some things I don't agree with Paul Crouch on. But I think he and his wife are great people, and I myself will continue to be a fan of TBN. There has been many days or nights, when I needed to hear the Word of God, and turned on TBN, and got what I needed. And sometimes it was from former drug addicts, who are now preachers, and I could identify with them, or somebodys testimony, has helped me. And many, many other things.
And also some people can't get out to church, and TBN or The Word Network, or some other Christian station is all that they have.

We are to all learn how to decern the spirits and to know what it is to separate the wheat from the chaff. They all grow together until the day of harvest.

I pray God gives me the wisdom to know the difference of the good being said and done and the deception that is being spread about.

I will take the good from out of it all.
