Prayer Plug

Hi everyone,

This is a plug for the prayer forum. It's probably being written because I personally feel convicted about not spending more time there myself, to be very honest.

Anyway, it's just a reminder to go there and pray for others...even if you don't respond...and to respond when the Holy Spirit leads you to. I also want to say if you have a praise about what God has done for you, it will bless us to hear about it, and to share in giving God the glory!

If you have a need, even if you want to keep it silent, know that there are regulars that go there and pray, and that God knows what is it is. If you have a specific request, then tell us and let us share in your burdens, and pray for you.

This is just a little plug, as I said. I want to remind us all to talk with our Lord for whatever the reason, and to share, as a body of believers in Christ, our needs, praises, encouragements, and prayers. The Lord bless all of you today.

I don't usually respond to the posts, but I pray for the ones I read about. Any one who posts there can be assured that there are others like me who pray but don't post. At least I hope so.

You know Lovely. You are right. Before I got caught up with these foolish debates about Hell with these false teachers, I was spending good quality time in the prayer room. I was feeling convicted yesterday for not being there and realized that powers of darkness have kept me away.

While I do pray daily for this forum and I have many here on my prayer list it is no excuse for not popping in there.
Lord Jesus I appologize for taking those precious request for granted. Lord I pray that your praise and prayer room will always be my priority while I am logged into this forum. I pray In Jesus name. Amen

Thanks for the affirmation Lovely. I am sure you may have noticed I have been absent from there the past couple of weeks :sad

I tend to believe that we can do more about false teachers by praying for them / and against the false teaching, than we can do by debating them. God is able to do so much more.

Titus 3:9-11 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

However, it is through the debates that we know what needs to be prayed for.

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

I had thought about doing a poll, asking if members of this forum pray for the other members, but I need to do some praying over that first. I would not want to be discouraged by the results.

James 5:16 ... The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

You are right and I have said many times, that I know I will not convince anyone of these false teachers and make no mistake about it, this is what they are, to change or convert them. That is the Job of the Holy Spirit. Infact Only the Holy Spirit can show man his depravity. Its up to man to decide if they want to open their eyes and years to hear.

I don't see it as waste of time to debate these false teachers for a couple or few reasons.
1) perhaps they don't really know they are false teachers and their eyes will open up. It may even take years, all we can do is plant the seed.

2) This is my primary reason. Over the past few months and I do save the PM's and emails that I get from members regarding some of these false teachers. To date I have recieved 24 PMs and 13 e mails in ragards to questions being asked about these false teachings. Many of these emails and Pm.s come from people who are Guest or members who seldom post. They are trully there to learn and seek truth. Those that are seeking truth, the Holy Spirit will give them ears to hear and eyes to see. I keep these messeges for enouragement, because I have been discouraged very much here as well. I have had the honor of asking fellow adelphos for prayer here in this forum and Jack and Solo have known how to pray for me and I also pray for them. There is trully unity within GODS people regardless if one is Baptist, Penticostal, Non Dem, etc. In the end when it comes to the word of God there is 1 truth, not this dualistic theology others preach here.
I belong to really two other forums. One a F1 site and I love formula 1 and the other is another Christian forum. I only post on this one now so I can spend the quality time I need to in putting my commentaries together. I know that much of what I say the false teachers don't get it because it is truth, but I also know that it will affirm to those who already know the truth, that truth is truth. Amen.

3) I do it because it also sharpens me personally as I do my research for my website and more than anything it draws me closer to God, because much of what I write is through prayer and supplication.

4) Speaking the truth about Jesus is cool. 8-)

5) speaking the truth about Jesus is cool :)

So these are my 5 reasons..

I so much appreciate your comments little angel, because you speak the truth of the Gospel.. I also appreciate the Women so much here, because they add that balance that only women can add. Women are quick to rain us males in and remind us of the purpose we are all here..
I praise Jesus for you little angel, as well as destiny, Lovely, Judy when she has to step in. I wish there was more women who would speak up with the boldness of you gals.

I did not mean to be stepping on your toes jg.

Perhaps if those who disagree with your view points were to be in fervent prayer for the rest of us, God could begin to change the hearts and minds of those who are holding false doctrines. God often changes my viewpoint when I pray for others.

I have discovered that it sometimes makes a big difference when the person that holds the opposite view point from my own is asked to pray for me. Requesting that they go before God, and ask the Lord to reveal truth to me, will sometimes open their heart enough that God Himself can show them where they are wrong.

My adversity to 'debates', comes from the lack of fellowship in my own life. I have not forsaken fellowship, it is just dangerous to seek it out. My fellowship these days, is online. There is no sanctuary there. The apostacy, took over my church. They worked their way into ministry. My pastor, a true man of God, retired over a year ago, and I have not been back since. To join a new church would make them a target of this same group.
