Jeff, May I suggest this be the last time your writers use this kind of a sketch. This same concept was used in your June 16th comicand it's just not funny. Too many Christian think it's fine and dandy to act like the world and this comic in some ways encourages the behavior as long as we laugh about it later. That is not a good message to send at all.

must say read comic for first time and i agree with you its wrong

I don't think you're giving the audience enough credit to understand that the humor comes from the fact that it is NOT all right to act like Nim. Since the beginning of the comic strip, Nim has taken things to such ridiculous extremes (for comic effect) that I believe it's clear that this is inappropriate behavior for Christians.

As far as my comic encouraging bad behavior, I take exception to that. My comic regularly encourages others to pray for those that haven't found Christ or who try to beat up on Christians. It provides a fun and entertaining way to think about God and the blessing he brings us.

And as to it not being funny, I'd just suggest that this is a matter of personal taste. I find both of these comics quite funny, and others have told me they do as well.

Yours in Christ,
Jeff

I understand that not all christians take issue with this. I will say most of the time I have no problem with Nim, however the difference in this case is that it is not an extreme that we all see as rediculous, but a reality that is far too common in modern Christianity.

I know from personal experience on a "Christian" campus that far too often Christians make light of bashing fellow believers or others about their beliefs. Maybe it's something my circumstances have made me sensative to, and I realize not everyone will find the same things humorous. Perhaps then, instead of not using the notion again, the next time you should point out somethings along the lines of how Christian speech is to be edifying.

Jeff, all in all, I like prayer pups. I by no means want to discourage your work and the ministry that comes from it.

Thanks for the response. I didn't think you were being discouraging at all, I feel we were just having a conversation.

I agree that too many Christians find no problem in bashing either other Christians or the lost souls we're supposed to help find Jesus.

I do try to make sure that neither Nim - nor the comic in general - ever suggests that this is a proper way to act.

Yours in Christ,
Jeff
