If you have never thought about that statement before, or had it added to your understanding, it will be very important for you to know that this existed before the foundation of the world.
Before anything was created, heaven, earth, universe, before anything was created , God was Father.
How do we know this, Col. 1:17,
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
All things were created by His Son, and by him all things consist.
To be a Father you must have a Son, according to the scriptures, God the Father had a Son, God the Son. Nonetheless He was a Father, why is this so profound to the believers understanding;
because this is the first thing the bible disclosures about God, He was a Father before the foundation of the world, Col. 1:15
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Before He gave instruction to Adam, before sin, sickness, even before there was a devil, God was a Father first.
The book of John when read with this relationship in mind you can see the Son never declares Himself but only His Father, and the Father throughout this book declares only His Son.
The Old Testament is God the creator without His Fatherly attributes.
He was a Father to only one Son at the time, but no one in the Old Testament had His nature, no one was born again.
Can you see it, can you see the importance of being born again, we are living in that age, the reason for all things.
The reason for creation, the reason men breath and the world exists.
Created for God the Father to take a piece of Himself (Christ) and place it in the creature.
That constitutes the birthing, born of God.
We are the bonified offspring of the Father by the one Son in many believers.
Scripture calls it "the mystery of Godliness."
John 17:5,
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
