Continuing from earlier the fundamental change from the Law of Moses to the Law of Christ needs to be understood. Some background will be useful before proceeding. The Bible records that the worldwide flood came 1656 years after the creation of the world. It was not until the Tower of Babel that nations were created. We know from Genesis 11 that the division of tongues forced man to at last obey one of the commands of the Noahic Covenant and that was to replenish the whole earth and not remain In one place. The rebellion at the Tower of Babel was a denial of God's right to rule. The division that took place is described in Genesis 10. Often what is taught is not chronological. We know from Genesis 11:18 that the division of tongues took place in. The lifetime of Peleg but the year is unknown. However, the people of Israel was formed by God when Abraham crossed the River in obedience to God in Genesis 12:1 and that was very nearly 2054 BC. The Law of Moses was given to Moses and Israel approximately 1640 BC. Prior to the creation of the nation of Israel GOD worked through the seedline to reveal HIMSELF and HIS statutes. Interestingly the only language which existed until the Tower of Babel was Hebrew. For a full study of this, I recommend you purchase the commentary on the book of Genesis from Ariel Ministries.
One specific thing to note is that while the seventh day of Genesis 1 and 2 was called the Sabbath there was no Sabbath Day observance commanded until 2400 years after man was created. I have done a brief study on the Sabbath which has been sent to some of you. If you want me to forward let me know.

12) To understand the Law of Moses we need to know something about the command to Israel to keep the Sabbath Day from Friday 6 pm to Saturday 6 pm. In the Biblical and Hebrew mindset it is the evening before the morning based on Genesis chapter 1. Please note 3 things about the seventh day of the week. From Exodus 31:12-17 we see in verse 13 it was a sign between YHWH and Israel that the Law of Moses was in existence. The Sabbath Day observance, the fourth commandment given to Moses in Exodus 20:8-11, was the actual sign of the existence of the Law.
From Deuteronomy 5:12-15 the Sabbath Day observance was based on the fact that in the beginning GOD rested from creation on the seventh-day creation was complete. Never think that HE took a nap. He preserves all things and knows all things at all times. The Sabbath Day was a day of rest from labours and it applied to all creatures in Israel's domain. Why? because in verse 15 Israel had no rest days when in bondage in the Land of Egypt.God was as the ONE WHO brought Israel out of Egypt. It reminded Israel of the faithfulness of their GOD to them as the covenant nation.
Israel is the people through whom God's plan of redemption is provided, as the LORD states in John 4:22-24.
The Third passage is found in Ezekiel 20:12 where YHWH states that the sabbaths are a personal sign between HIMSELF and Israel.
It is easy to see from 3 New Testament passages that sabbath day observance does not apply in the Church age.
In Romans 14:5-6 all believers are at liberty to set aside any day they wish as special. Indeed if a person wishes to work on this day he may. Please note that nowhere in Scripture has the sabbath day been transferred to a Sunday. The Sabbath day is the seventh day and the Sunday is the first day of the week. However, in Hebrews 10:23-25 we are commanded to fellowship with other believers on a regular basis, if possible. It is an act of gross religiosity to call Sunday the Sabbath but that is what the world believes because most of the visible church does not state the truth.
In Galatians 4:8-11 Paul writes to a church mainly comprised of Gentiles whom he led to salvation. He points out in verse 8 that because of their faith in JESUS they had turned away from idols and were now experientially known by GOD as believers In the first century everyone believed in false God's or YHWH. In verses 9 and 10 he points out that since he left them they had been seduced by Jewish zealots for the Law to observe days( Sabbath); monthly New moon festivals; the 7 Jewish feasts and sabbath and Jubilee years. In verse 9 Paul points out such things are weak ( they are powerless to save) and beggarly ( they are incapable of imparting spiritual life for growth). Elsewhere he tells them that physical circumcision is pointless for Gentiles. All these things are work of the flesh and whilst commanded to the Jew under the Law of Moses are excluded under the Law of CHRIST.
In Colossians 2:16-17 Paul tells the believers that they were free from several things commanded in the Law of Moses and one was to keep the Sabbath.
This is one way to show the end of the Law of Moses which occurred when Jesus had fulfilled the Law on behalf of Israel at Calvary.
I will next deal with other passages which are just as explicit concerning the fact of the ending of the Law and will then move on to the need to know this.
