Presbyterians thinking of changing the trinity

I've also heard the Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost refered to as Big Daddy, JC and the Spook.

Do you limit God to these forms?

Do you anthropomophize God's attributes and think you have a clear understanding of WHAT God is?

If so.....

Remember that it comes off as being very arrogant.

God is beyond "Father - Son - Holy Spirit".

To believe the most powerful Being in the universe or existance for that matter to be some human deity is insane.

At least thats whats Muslims think!

Always remember "Father - Son - Holy Ghost" are METAPHORS of a much BIGGER Being which is the Transcendescent God!

I think it may be a bit awkward to change scripture to read anything else but Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Or even more confusing to read, "Father, Son, Holy Ghost" but speak "Mother, Child and Womb" or "Rock, Redeemer, Friend".

This is nothing more than PC for what others want that makes them feel better. Call me a conservative, a fundy (served with a happy meal) or whatever one cares to but stick with what people know throughout the world. One church calls them this, another that and yet another something else. Only thing one could expect from that is chaos sooner or later. Or, maybe that's the goal?

Granted, yet the particular metaphors are what God has used to come from the transcendent to the temporalâ€â€to impart some knowledge of Himself on our level if you will. Is it wise to use metaphors which God does not use in Scripture?
