Primer is a ultra low-budget movie that came out in 2004 and won the Sundance that year. It's also the most brilliant thought-provoking film I have seen since Memento. I watched it last night and I can't stop thinking about it at work today. It's basically the story of some engineers who invent things in their garage, and an invention they build which completely changes their lives, giving them more power than they know what to do with, and the consequences of this power.

The first half of the movie is fairly straightforward, but the second half becomes confusing and difficult to follow, but once you can begin to wrap your head around it its quite mindblowing. Your second viewing will be completely different that your first. I highly recommend this movie for anyone who likes films that make them think and don't provide all the answers for them.

I got it at blockbuster. DVD just came out a month or so ago so it was in new releases.

Blockbuster?!?!?

This suprises me, for two such worldly gentlemen.

You guys gotta do NetFlix....the only way to rent movies these days!

I've got the blockbuster online membership, which is equivalent to Netflix but with two free in-store rentals per month. That way I can have my queue but still impulsively rent something if my current 3 picks aren't something I'm in the mood for

haha...I stand corrected. I've been with Netflix for a few years, and I really haven't checked out the blockbuster offer yet.

Even if it is a bit cheaper or better, I doubt I would change because I would have to reenter my movie queue, which is already well above 100 movies!

Saw it last night on PPV. Owww. My head hurts.

Why did the old guy go into a coma?

Why did their handwriting get bad?

What did putting one of the boxes INSIDE another box accomplish?

Owww. Pretty cool on the whole, but that last 30 minutes just lost me. What exactly were they trying to accomplish with the shotgun guy? Why did one of their ears bleed? It got over late, and I thought about this for exactly 5 minutes, then packed it in.
