Hello~ my turn~

I have a professor in my history class who refuses to allow me to utter a word against Karl Marx or his socialists politics, in our written discussions. That would not be too hard normally, except we are going through pieces of his Communist Manifesto, and much of what this man professes is humanistic and highly critical of Christianity especially. :-?

Now you can say whatever you like about me, after all I'm just a sinner saved by grace. However, (our Lord's body) is quite another thing!

Lift up this man and ask for his salvation with me, and please ask for the class to be protected from the very strange ideas by which he is influencing them.

Great swelling words ... can be so oppressive. :x

I expect to spend some time around my brothers and sisters and hear some good ol' humble talk, just to wash out my ears a little.

In Jesus love always. bonnie

Bonnie, I was just watching a documentary the other night on how our university campus' have become the enemy of free speech and the free exchange of opposing ideas. I know first hand how oppressive it can be to be forced to listen to that unchallenged and unchecked, after paying quite a bit of money for the priveledge of having to do so. I had one Professor who used to justify abortion and infanticide up to 3 years because anyone that young isn't 'human'. :smt078

I certainly stand with you in prayer. (pssst, I read the end of the book already and guess what, we're right after all. )

Oh Dora~

I am so glad to hear your supportive words! Sometimes I feel like a lone soul out there in academia, fighting an uphill battle all the way! May I ask what documentary did you see? It could be a helpful piece of film for me.

And best of all I have a report of praise! :-D I wrote my professor a bold email, detailing his "soap boxing" of this document, and instruction to his class to follow his ideals in our written assignment for it. I even re-stated portions of his own syllabus that call for his students to write critically and be willing to interpret the historical events and writings personally.

Guess what! He sent me an email saying I was correct in defending my right to offer my own views with integrity, AND he will post a written appology and and re-statement of the assignment to the class! WOW!

God always amazes me! I thought I was going to get a lowered grade, which has happened before when I have stood up to these men. Sometimes, the Lord moves and other times He may not. I can only say that our God reigns in everything! Priase Him for every answer... and for His kids that help me, like you! May He bless us, as we honor Him. bonnie

Wow, that is great Bonnie! God must have really been working through you on this one.

As for the documentary, I'll keep an eye out for it. It was on the Documentary channel and I just kind of stumbled acrossed it. If I can find the title, I'll post it.

Gosh Bonnie, I'll be praying....know the experience of unchecked professors. Saw one blow up on a student not knowing her husband was a police officer, and she asked him a simple question and he lost it, jumped up on his desk and was screaming at the top of lungs, swinging his arms, face all red, for her to shut her stupid mouth, and we all sat there totally stupified. Then I stood up to leave to call the police and as I stood up one by one we all stood up to leave then he started ranting and raving screaming vulgarities (still standing on his desk) that if any of us leave we'd all fail the theology class. Well excuse me, (I'm not proud of myself, except to say I was at my limit) but that ran through me so bad tolerating his unrational behavior four days a week, that I stepped back into the class (that I paid for) to show him my birdy/finger on that one, and I went and called the police, and he was arrested, nor did he come back.

We later heard that he had a substance abuse problem...with all the complaints coming in weekly on him, personally I can't figure out how it went on as long as it did, they just chose to ignore us, and everyone else who complained until I called the police. And guess whose husband showed up to arrest him? Yelp you guess it, the pretty little redhead he had in tears in the front row he was screaming at. Talk about poetic justice.... Then of course they sent out letters to all the students (making themselves look ignorant) that they weren't aware of the problem, but that it had been resolved. What a joke!

Personally I thought some of the faculty should have been arrested for allowing our lives to be endangered by an obvious irrational personel that they employeed, clearly knowing he was blowing up on his students by the numerous complaints. But the last I heard the pretty little red head was suing the college and professor, but she had my affidavit sign sealed and delivered in her lawyers office, among the other witnesses to the event, which stirred up a few other lawsuits against the technical college.

And personally I think we should have a big bomb fire with all the soap boxes. :onfire:

Bonnie, I love your story. Good for you for being so bold and writing your professor.

As a university student myself, I have often come across that "one" prof. I went to university to expand my mind, not to narrow it.
It's unfortunate that some professors are like that.
But even they can surprise you sometimes :)

I am working on a Bachelor of Science in the health industry. It never ceases to amaze me as I learn more and more about the human body, how incredibly detailed and well thought out, and well planned it actually is.
Down to ever single cell, it's function, and how it plays a role in forming our organs, or immune system, or brain, or muscles....

I could go on and on.

Yet those who teach it do not see it. We all came from fish according to them.
I have to wonder if they are reading the same text as me.

The more I learn of Science, the more I am convinced there IS a God.
It bewilders me how anyone could go in the opposite direction.

There is no other way to explain such perfection.

Anyhoo, that's my little rant :)

What are you studying, Bonnie?

Carol, your experience is craazzzyyyy!!! I would have been petrified. Sounds like he needs some serious meds :x

I, fortunately, have not experienced anything close to that.
And I pray that I never do!!!

Cheers

You say he was a theology professor?!! Surely he was a secular professor teaching theology right? What a story!!

Bonnie the name of the documentary was Indoctrinate U. Here's the trailer:

This really is a must see for anyone in college or contemplating putting their kids into college.

Any way, praise God that your prayer was answered so clearly. Our God does reign, even if some folks with alphabet letters behind their names don't want to believe it.
