Welcome to Project Linus
National Headquarters
Project Linus is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization with a two-fold mission:
First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers."
Note: I found out about Project Linus today while I was
shopping for yarn in a local arts and crafts store.
I went to the website, clicked on the appropriate state link, and
had the opportunity to chat with the head of the Project Linus group here in my town. She's a charming lady, and gave me many, many names of organizations that would welcome
knitted, quilted, or crocheted items.
One of them locally is called "Compassionate Family", and they give handmade blankets to the families of murder victims!
My goodness!
IF you know ANYONE who does needlework, like knitting or crocheting, please direct them to Project Linus.
Their logo is the Peanuts character, Linus, holding a blanket.
Remember: Project Linus
There are local chapters in YOUR state! Easy to find, too.
