Is Jesus the Christ? Yes He is. "Therefore the Lord himself shall send you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." Isaiah 7:14. Mary of Nazareth claimed to have given birth to a son as a virgin. Some people say a lot of women could claim that, but I don't know of any other one that has. Have you ever heard of a woman who claimed to have given birth to a baby as a virgin? I haven't. Other than Mary.
"The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken." Deuteronomy 18:15. That's Moses talking. Jesus said Moses was talking about Him there. If that's not Him then who else? Moses said this Prophet would speak the words of God, and those who would not hearken unto Him God the Father would require it of him.
Then David wrote in Psalm 23, "The LORD is my shepherd ... I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever." Psalm 23:1,6. Jesus claimed He was that shepherd and He could give eternal life to those who believe Him and come unto Him. Do you know of any one else who came along and claimed to be the Good Shepherd? I don't.
Then the unbelieving Jews had said that Jesus couldn't be the Christ because the Christ had to come from Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) and that Jesus came from Galilee. They hadn't realized that Jesus had, in fact, been born in Bethlehem.
Jesus told the unbelieving Jews to "search the scriptures" and then they would believe in Him and come to Him and receive eternal life. "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31,32.
