The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell[a] in the house of the Lord
Forever.

We all know this well known Psalm.What does verse 5 mean to you?

I believe that David is saying is that he has no worries in the presences of his enemies because God is protecting him. I think it's kind of like a calm in the storm.

Thou prepareth.Very intentional,very planned and very orderly?
Thou prepareth a table.Preparing a feast for us in front of our enemies? God is not afraid of anything.He is undaunted by any evil.He provides for us as we are under attack by evil or distress.
Thou prepareth a table before mine enemies. Who are the enemies?Satan,a murderer or our world? Could it be distress,troubles or affliction?

David's enemies will see God serving him;
honoring him;
blessing him.
