For some reason, most Ministers, Rabbis, Priests, and Pastors haven't heard of or haven't mentioned that there is a Prophesied War of Psalms 83 prior to Ezekiel 38.

The Isaiah 17 destruction of Damascus, Syria might happen during this Psalms 83 conflict.

Lebanon and Syria are starting to feel tension in their population. It doesn't take much for militant groups like Al Qaeda, The Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbollah and Hamas to stir things up further especially if Israel has to strike out against Hezbollah in Lebanon for starting another confrontation, or Syria joining in also to wipe out Israel from being a nation.

This is not the future Gog-Magog War of Ezekiel 38. The future Gog-Magog War is the Russian alliance to take a spoil, or plunder Israel.

The Gog-Magog War will happen only after after Israel is dwelling safely in their land without walls according to Ezekiel 11:

Ezekiel 38: 1-14 (quoted almost fully just in case people aren't aware of this future prophesy either)

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: 6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them. 8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. 9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee. 10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: 11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, 12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land. 13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil? 14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?

After the Psalms 83 War, Israel will enlarge Her borders taking over 5 cities in Egypt (Isaiah 19:18). The Psalms 83 prophecy also seems to indicate that most of the Palestinians will be wiped out so this of course would make the existing wall to keep out suicide bombers unnecessary.

Another interesting note is that Isaiah Chapter 15 talks about the destruction of Moab which hasn't happened yet. Moab were the descendants of the incestuous offspring of Lot and one of his daughters.

The nations involved in the coming Psalms 83 War's sole purpose is to wipe out Israel from being a nation:

Egypt*, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and their client terrorist groups, the Palestinians, Hezbollah and Hamas. Hezbollah just recently took control of the Lebanese government by new elections.

Isaiah 17 tells of a future battle with Israel where Damascus, the capitol of Syria, is so totally destroyed that it can never be inhabited again. Both of these prophecies seem likely to be fulfilled before the Battle of Ezekiel 38 takes place.

What started in Tunisia, is spreading throughout the Middle-East and of course extreme Islamic elements will take this opportunity to gain power wherever possible.

Psalms 83: 1-8

1 A Song or Psalm of Asaph. Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. 2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. 3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. 4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. 5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee: 6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; 7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Is the Middle East About to Go Apocalyptic?

By Bill Salas

The possible, albeit speculative, scenario I am suggesting to prepare for is as follows:

1. Israeli Pre-empted strike against Iran's nuclear sites.
2. Iran and/or proxies (Hezbollah, Syria, Hamas) retaliate.
3. Israel uses Scalar Technology against Damascus
4. Damascus ceases to be a city (Isaiah 17:1 fulfilled)
5. Arab League calls an emergency meeting intended to
draw a line in the sand between Israel and the Arabs
6. Jordan and Egypt are pressured to break fragile
peace treaties with Israel and confederate with other
Arabs. (Jordan and Egypt are enlisted members of Psalm 83)
7. Saudi Arabia, also enlisted in Psalm 83, joins in for survival and economic, religious, and geo-political purposes
8. Psalm 83 commences...
On a side note; Arab Nationalism is at an all time high especially in light of the Iranian nuclear threat. Additionally the Palestinian Refugee Plight is climaxing presently and, if the scenario I'm
suggesting occurs, it could come full front and center in the midst of this major conflict. I believe these refugees are represented as the
"tents of Edom" in Psalm 83:6.
9. Israel recognizes Arab military intentions and launches further preemptive strikes on its Arab neighbors and strikes religious sites in Saudi Arabia and overtakes the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the
Rock. (Jimmy DeYoung informed me that the priestly garb is presently being prepared for about 28,000 Levites. DeYoung declared, They are saying in Israel today; "When the dome comes down, the priestly garments come out"! )
10. The Psalm 83 war ends, separation wall comes down, and construction of third Jewish temple begins.
11. The I.D.F. becomes an exceedingly great army in
fulfillment of Ezekiel 37:10.

It may not happen exactly in this way; however, the above scenario is not that far fetched and I encourage people to prepare for the above or some varying scenario possibilities.

The prophecies that are about to be fulfilled leading up to Ezekiel 38 are world changing and then the world will probably witness the Gog of Magog invasion. The sign posts are all up and pointing toward the nearby coming of the seven-year tribulation period ending with the campaign of Armageddon, shortly after the above type scenario occurs.

(End of Bill Salas excerpt)

What do you think of this recently discovered prophesy of Psalms 83?

Is it coming to pass soon, within 2 or 3 years?

Any views on this are welcomed. I am interested in whether or not people believe
that the Psalms 83 prophecy will be accepted as the Ezekiel 38 prophesy has been.

What is your evidence tht ROSH= Russia?

The following is from Contender Ministries, see copyright terms at the end.
Due to Length of Article, I could only copy a portion of the article, to see full article go to: The War of Gog and Magog

Rosh as Russia
Some versions of the Bible translate the Hebrew word 'rosh' in verse 3 as a noun referring to a place in Russia. The least credible support for this view is that Rosh sounds like the modern-day name Russia and Meshech sounds like Moscow. In this translation they treat rosh as a proper name. The Greek translation translates Rosh as the proper name Ros. Because the ancient Sarmations were known as the Ras, Rashu, and Rus and inhabited Rasapu which is now Southern Russia, some feel this verse points to Russia as the prince of Rosh. Another support sited for this view is that verse 6 and 15 say the invasion will come from remote parts of the north, and Russia is more remote.

Rosh as chief

Other versions of the Bible translate 'rosh' as an adjective. The argument here is that in the Massoretic text the words 'chief prince' carry the accents Tiphha and Zaqeph-gadol. The Tiphha appears under the resh of the Hebrew word 'rosh'; the Zaqeph-gadol appears on top of the sin of the Hebrew word 'nish'. The Tiphha to the right, underneath the initial consonant of the world 'rosh', or chief, is prepositive and does not mark the tone syllable. The world 'nish' or prince has the accent Zaqeph-gadol which is disjunctive and indicates a pause. So, verse three would read:

"Behold, I am against thee, o Gog, the prince, {pause} chief of Meshech and Tubal"

Rather than:

"Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal."

Here 'rosh' is translated head or chief as it is 423 other times in the Old Testament.

In short, if you believe 'rosh' should be translated as a proper noun you may find the interpretation that Russia will be a part of this coalition more reasonable. If you believe 'rosh' should be an adjective here, you need only concern yourself with who Meshech and Tubal are. I tend to have a problem with the "it sounds like Russia" theory, and find the translation of rosh as an adjective more believable, but to each his own.

Meshech and Tubal in verses 2 and 6, were the names of the 6th and 5th sons of Japheth, the son of Noah (Gen. 10:2). Ezekiel 27:13 also mentions Meshech and Tubal as trading partners with Tyre (Modern Lebanon). It's likely that Meshech and Tubal refer to the ancient Moshi/Mushki and Tubalu/Tibareni who dwelled in the area around, primarily south of, the Black and Caspian Sea in Ezekiel's day. Today these nations would be in the modern country of Turkey, parts of Southern Russia and Northern Iran. All areas with a Muslim majority.

Verse 6 adds Gomer and Beth-Togarmah to the coalition. "Gomer" was the first son of Japheth. The Gomerites were the ancient Cimmerians, expelled in 700 B.C. from the southern steppes of Russia into what is today Turkey. "Togarmah" is the 3rd son of Gomer and beth at the beginning of the name is the Hebrew word for 'house' or 'place of'. In Ezekiel's time there was a city in Cappodocia (Modern Turkey) known as Tegarma, Tagarma, Til-garimmu, and Takarama.

The possibility that four of the names mentioned in Ezekiel are now in Turkey makes a pretty strong argument for Turkey being a part of the invasion of Israel. Current circumstances in that country also lend this view some credibility. Since the break-up of the Soviet Union, Turkey has been gaining inroads into Central Asia (Magog). It is also linked to Central Asia both ethnically and linguistically, and has a growing number of political parties that support opposition to Israel, establishment of a Turkish Islamic Republic, and the worldwide rule of Islam.

Verse 5 brings three more names into the mix. God tells us that "Persia, Cush and Put will be with them".

Persia is a pretty easy one. In 539 B.C. the Persians conquered the city of Babylon. You only need look at a map of the ancient Persian Empire to see that it was centered in the nation known today as Iran. In fact Iran was called Persia until 1935 when it was changed to Iran and then to the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979 during the Iranian Revolution. It's no secret that Iran is an archenemy of Israel and the West, and a supporter of the Palestinians. They are actively working to get other Arab countries to change camps in their cooperation with the U.S. and Israel.

The ancient kingdom of Cush in Ezekiels time was the land just south of Egypt on the Nile River. Today this land is occupied by Sudan. Sudan is home to the National Islamic Front, is ruled by an Islamic military dictatorship, a strong supporter of Iraq, home to Osama bin Landen from 1991-1996, and harbors countless Islamic terrorist groups. Sudan would easily fit into the coalition as it is already close allies with Iran, trading military supplies for docking rights on the Red Sea shipping routes.

Ancient Put was the land just west of Egypt, or what is today Libya. Libya is another sponsor of terrorism, and openly refuses to recognize Israel's right to even exist. When the coalition against Israel is formed, Libya won't have to be asked twice to join.

Verse 6 adds "and many people with you." The nations listed specifically are all somewhat distant from Israel. By adding "and many people with you", God may have been indicating that those nations and peoples in closer proximity to Israel will join the Jihad. Other nations that might join the alliance are Iraq, Syria, Jordon, and Egypt. All of them are Islamic nations, and all of them would not hesitate to support the destruction of Israel were the opportunity to join such a vast coalition presented to them.

Russia I believe gets its name from a people called the Russ who were a Norse people from Scandinavia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rus_(people)

I always understood Gog / Magog to be Russia hence the Bible saying they are to the far north.

The Indo-European languages all descend from one root language which is believed to be from a people who originate from somewhere like Ukraine or the steppes of Russia or central Asia. From them came tribes such as the Galatae, Getae, Massagetae, Thyssagetae, Gotar (Goths), Scythian / Saka (Slavs? & NW Indians), Samatians, Aryans (Persians & Medes), Gotra (Indian Aryans) etc. This is how the language group spread across Europe and down through central Asia into India. I understood Magog to be the father to these people and his land being Russia.

The Persians and Medes came into Iran from the northeast of Iran. Prior to them appearing the Elamites were the dominant people. Elamites spoke a language of the Elamo-Dravidian language group which was languages spread across Iran and down through India. Elam was a son of Shem unlike Magog who was a son of Joktan.

According to genetic science, Indo-Europeans although looking like sons of Shem (Armenians & Southern Asians) using DNA we can determine their origins are closer to that of Northen Asia, Native Americans and East Asians.

With respects the Syria. A piece of info I have recently been learning from Muslims and Muslim sites is;

Muslims believe there will be a big war to the east of Damascus just before the end of time. It is the time when their end time prophet who is a descendant of Muhammad will fight the people following the anti-Christ (not the Christian anti-Christ but someone who will pose as an anti-Christ and will appear to be an enemy of Islam - Satan is the master of deception and will do anything to misguide us).

The final battle will be to the east of Damascus where Jesus (probably the real anti-Christ) will join their end time prophet at will bring peace to the Earth. I think they then believe that half the Christians in the world will join but the other half will remain the enemy.
They believe that this end time prophet and the end time Jesus will bring a harmony and peace on the Earth for the last seven years before judgment day.

Compare this to the Bible in Daniel 9:27 which also speaks about a last seven years

"And he (the anti-Christ) will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate"

Quoting from Wikipedia

Muslims believe that Jesus will return at a time close to the end of the world. The Qur'anic verse they allude to as an indicator to Jesus' future return is as follows:[48]
“And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way.”[Qur'an 43:61]
According to Islamic tradition, Jesus' descent will be in the midst of wars fought by the Mahdi (lit. "the rightly guided one"), known in Islamic eschatology as the redeemer of Islam, against the al-Masīh ad-Dajjāl ("false messiah") and his followers.[49] Jesus will descend at the point of a white arcade, east of Damascus, dressed in yellow robes—his head anointed. He will then join the Mahdi in his war against the Dajjal. Jesus, considered in Islam as a Muslim and one of God's messengers, will abide by the Islamic teachings. Eventually, Jesus will slay the Dajjal, and then everyone from the People of the Book (ahl al-kitāb, referring to Jews and Christians) will believe in him. Thus, there will be one community, that of Islam.[50]
Sahih Bukhari Volume 3, Book 43, Number 656: Narrated Abu Huraira:
"Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you as a just ruler, he will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jizya tax. Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it (as charitable gifts)."
After the death of the Mahdi, Jesus will assume leadership. This is a time associated in Islamic narrative with universal peace and justice. Islamic texts also allude to the appearance of Ya'juj and Ma'juj (known also as Gog and Magog), ancient tribes which will disperse and cause disturbance on earth. God, in response to Jesus' prayers, will kill them by sending a type of worm in the napes of their necks.[49] Jesus' rule is said to be around forty years, after which he will die. Muslims will then perform the Salat al-Janazah (funeral prayer) for him and bury him in the city of Medina in a grave left vacant beside Muhammad[48]
