Bible Study purity

The following quote is in DNTB pg 875.

"What is pure is accessible to the holy and for that very reason must be protected from the holy."

This is referring to Ezek 44:19 "lest they make the people holy with their garments"

Can someone explain this concept to me?

Gal 5:19-21
19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

I'm doing a study on the sins in this list.
I understand sexual immorality as illigitimate sexual intercourse.
The next, I'm a little stumped on.
What is impurity in this passage referring to exactly?
