Putin and Israel

This world is a funny place.
For example........its a well known fact that we are in the end times countdown and Israel is the key to the time clock.
Its a well known fact that Russia is not a friend or ally of Israel, and knowingly takes the side of Iran as well as Syria regarding the politics of the middle east.
It is Russia (or so ive read) who is helping with the technology necessary to enrich Uranium so that Iran can get their first nuke...

But then, on Monday the 25th of June 2012, Putin the Russian President, newly elected again, is coming to the very city in Israel where i live, (Netanya) to be a part of the celebration honoring fallen Russian soldiers who died in the conflict against Hitler in WWII.
Isnt that amazing?
Israel has created 2 giant "wing" sculptures to commemorate the event, and Putin will be a part of their unveiling and live celebration.
Also in Israel currently, are Russian flags being flown all over the place.

You wont hear about this on MSNBC or FOX as they are too busy ranting about "Fast and furious", so i thought i would tell you.

Security was tight tight tight, so i was not able to get any pix of Putin as he descended unto Netanya using a nice helicopter which brought him from Ben Huron airport in Tel Aviv at about 1pm.
Its about a 5 min flight or a 40 min drive from Tel Aviv to Netanya.
He was wearing a navy blue suit, and seemed rested, well fed, and pretty much slightly bored..
The 50 min spectacle included a warm slightly humid day, an exhibit that looked like a cave with various WW11 stuff in it, some of it sculpture, then speeches.
Putin was taken through this exhibit as the Isralie host explained the significance of all the stuff on the cave walls, while Putin's interpreter interpreted the significance of it all into Putin's left ear.
20 mins into the cave, Putin asked for a rag to wipe the dripping sweat off his face as he unbuttoned his coat and smiled.
The mayor of Netanya was in the group...Miriam Feirberg,......she was wearing a red power suit and smiled a lot.
Exiting the cave, Putin embraced 4 waiting and still Timex ticking original WWII soldiers, Russians, who live here in Israel.....Putin hugged each, bowed, and seemed genuinely interested during this experience.....and then the waiting military band played the Russian and then the Isralie Nat'l anthems.
Hot day, French horns slightly out of tune., typical.
Then the speeches.
3 or 4 slightly long, heartfelt, and mostly semi-dull accounts of WWII trials and sufferings, etc.
Putin tried to focus, but, the heat, the heat., as he wiped the sweat and an occasional beach fly away.
Eventually, to a nice warm applause, Putan came to the podium and delivered a thoughtful speech, typically Russian, not a lot of humor, very direct and precise.
He was gracious regarding the memorial, and seemed to be in the moment.
When it was ending, a couple of female soldiers laid some pretty flowers (2 wreaths) at the feet of the ( 2) - 20 ft white "winged" sculptures with Putin standing nearby giving it a min of prayerful solitude.
Putin says hes a Christian, in case you were wondering about it.
Putin then did the line thing where he walked and pressed flesh while hoping the line is not too long before he can climb back into the Limo's AC and cool off.
He'll probably leave tomorrow evening, after he visits Jerusalem and Jordan.
He's staying with B Netanyhu at his home.
Thats pretty cool.
