Christ is simply a translation of Messiah.
The Old Testament is loaded from cover to cover with Messianic prophecies.
I was wondering how long that would get by everyone.

Of course it's Christian. But Dianecook already answered that. It'd be kind of like thinking you can believe in Jesus, without first believing in God. Christianity's foundations are all stemmed from the OT. Can't reject it or discard it and still be Christian.

No.
Christianity is not mentioned in the Old Testament and therefore is not Christian.

Abraham saw Christ:

"Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad." (John 8:56 NASB)
"The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia" (Acts 7:2 NASB)

He and many others believed in God's promise of a son. That's why his faith is the pattern of our faith. We believe in God's promise of the Son who inherits on our behalf all the promises made by God to Abraham and everyone else of like faith.
