Question for Quath

Member
Quath, let me ask you something. If you knew for sure that God had changed your heart...a real miracle in your heart...and there were many others who did not see it, or believe it, but you knew it was true, and you knew God's Word was completely true, and you understood positively that He was your Creator, do you think you would feel the way believers do on current issues? Just wondering.

Sorry Peace :D ,

Please anyone who does not claim to be a Christian....answer. This rose out of another thread where I was addressing Quath...that's all. But it would be interesting to see how all would answer.

That is a pretty tough question. I would first have to check myself to see if I was being falsely biased. Did I just want this to be true? Did I just have a vivid dream that set up some strong emotions?

But say I did convince myself that God exists and He was the Creator. The next step would be understanding His Word. If I became convinced that the OT was more His word, then I would be against Him. I find the deity portrayed in the OT to be a horrible character. I don't think I could ever be convinced that the actions attributed to God in the OT could ever be seen as "good" by me. At the most I could see that God had no feelings toward us.

But if I thought that the NT was closer to who God was and the OT was a mixture of truth and fantasy, then I would feel closer to how some Christians feel on some issues. I tend to want to follow philosophies and not rules. I find that gives a better understanding.

So I would probably be like CubedBee or Drew in how I would deal with current Christian issues.

I myslef would try to be the "cool" christian.

I have noted many christians, and have debated with a few, that seem to be like this.

I would want to be the christian that can acept others. I would know in my heart, the true path of god, and would want others to follow it. But, I would also see from their shoes (havign been there)

If someoen does not want to change, because they believe their belief is the right one, Then i would let them be. I would not want others pestering me, telling me I need to change, Because my beliefs are wrong.

I would try to be stovebolts :) cubedbee is pretty cool too.
